I am the first to admit that I LOVE James Patterson's books. This one was no exception! A beautiful woman unfortunately followed by death. An FBI agent mixed up with shady business. Oh, and the recurring phrase, things may not be what the seem. Oh, if you are in the habit of turning to the last few pages before the end of the book, DON'T!

To be honest, this story was OK, but it seemed as if there were a couple of books in one, as if it had been forced. Some unnecessary tricks and "mysteries" that were too obvious. I was sorry that I invested the time in reading it. It really seemd as if it were written by two different people. Oh. It was.

Another thriller with all of the twists and turns that is almost guarateed while reading Patterson's books. Norah Sinclair is a "black widow" being investigated by an undercover agent who has not only charisma but ability.

If you are looking for a quick read in the mystery genre, this is for you. Written from the female protagonist's viewpoint, it's just what you need on a beach blanket with a soft drink on the side. Fun and quick!
Great Thriller ...suspenseful
Great blend of Patterson suspense, drama, thrills and excitement. A real page-turner.

Suspenseful great read
Nora Sinclair, successful interior decorator, is a 'black widow' with the habit of eliminating her mates once they have served their purpose - usually, to further line her bank accounts. Will the personable undercover FBI agent who is assigned to investigate her be able to resist her charms? And if he doesn't, what will it mean to the case, and to everyone he cares about?
A WINNER!
This is great book, I love reading James Patterson.

Interesting Read
James Patterson is one of my favorite mystery writers. This was another good story with enough twists and turns to keep it really interesting. The characters are likeable even the murderer.
very good.
I loved this book-could not put it down. It was the first James Patterson book I read. Like the book states - sexy and scary!
Quite a plot and surprises everywhere... turns out to be a very quick read...
Great read! I'm a slow reader and I finished this book in a couple of days. James Patterson has a way of keeping you on the edge of your seat with lots of plot twists and turns and this book is no exception!
Patterson shows his flarefor brisk narrative, strong suspense and genuine twists in tacing the story.. hard to put down..
So captivating - I couldn't put it down.
Wow what an easy read! Once I started I could not stop. Very entertaining.
She's the most beautiful and adored in the world, he's an FBI agent who wonders why the FBI is interested in her. A great story and quick read.
Why is the FBI interested in Nora Sinclair? Mysterious things keep happening to people around her, especially the men. And there is something dangerous about Nora-something that lures Agent O'Hara at the same time that it fills him with fear. And as he spends more and more time getting to know her, is he pursuing justice? Or his own fatal obsession? If you know Pattersons can't put it down writing, this one is a great read as well.
EXcellent book. finished it in 1 day
Good book, a little predictable at times but it kept my attention for the most part.
Very fast-paced book. She's a black widow--suspected of killing her rich boyfiend, a previous husband, while married to another and plotting his murder. The FBI man, sent to investigate her, falls under her charms and into her bed as well. Will he be able to stop himself in time before he becomes her 4th victim? Don't read the last few pages ahead of the story. Save it for the end and be surprised!!
My first James Patterson read. Maybe I shouldn't have started with this one. I was a little disappointed.
This was a really good book. Most books you're like "YOU GO GIRL", but in this one, she is just down right mean! Very interesting book.
Very quick and easy to read. I only saw one twist coming. Good traveling, day at the beach or rainy day book.
A serial killer- black widow- knock off her spouses for fun and profit. Take a glamorous alluring woman and a tough but sensitive (and susceptible) FBI agent and you have non stop surprise episodes of.... things are not what they seem. And the body count accumulates... From mansions to vynil covered sofas in dreary flats, from taxis to benz and jags... the plot twists and turns and you cannot put it down! Well, maybe for dinner... Enjoy
I don't think I have yet read a stand alone book by Patterson that was worth my while reading. This is another one of those I wish I could have gotten my time back and read something worth reading.
Great read. The book is typical James Patterson, an entertaining, captivating, read.
This was the best book I have read in a long time. Suspense from beginning to end.
A very good Patterson book. What you would expect from this author but he is always able to keep things fresh and current. I found the main characters to be very engaging.
Loved this book! Great plot, love the black widow main character!
If you enjoy Patterson's characteristic suspense yarns, you'll love this one. A murderous "black widow" is being pursued by a federal agent. But things are not as they seem.
Good story, quick read, nice twist at the end.
Really enjoyed this one. Couldn't put it down!
This book was disappointing; it felt as if the writing was rushed to get it done. I really didn't like any of the characters. The chapters are short and there is a lot of white space on the pages. That makes for a quick read, but not sure if it is worth the $$$.
Not what I was expecting from Patterson, but I enjoyed it a whole lot.
I just finished this book about a week ago. I loved it. I have not found one James Patterson book so far that I haven't liked yet! So far all his books are just awesome. This one was a very quick read! This book is staying on my keep shelf.
A fast-moving book. Very quick read.
Enjoyable book. Worth reading.

Good book I finished it in one night
Another easy read from James Patterson with a twist at the end.
Nora Sinclair loves rich, handsome men. She marries them and kills them at the same time. This is Patterson at one of his best.
A little different than most James Patterson's books. Can a person be good and bad? See how you feel about Nora Sinclair and her lifestyle?
This is a very sexy and scary story. "Read this book!...Just imagine James Pastterson's Trademark suspenseful writing style--taken up a notch." A great book and a great read!!!!
Fast easy read - full of suspense.
Loved it!! Filled with suspense and surprises!
It's a Patterson book. You won't be disappointed. On the back cover it says "Don't give away the ending" and it also says "Don't give away the beginning". Intrigued? It's all yours.

2005 INTERNATIONAL THRILLER OF THE YEAR
I've not yet read comments on this book, simply a synopsis prior to reading it for myself. It might have been a best-seller of 2005, but I never liked the book as I was reading it. It was too slick, Nora was too unexplained, and the narrator has too many irons in the fire. Call it what you will, this is not the Patterson I always enjoyed. But it's one very fast read!
On the inside front cover, Patterson claims this is his best book ever. Well, I don't know about that. It was pretty good, but I've read better by him.
I loved this book! All my friends have read it and agree...
I really enjoyed this book. Stayed up late to finish it.
Couldn't put it down, read it in one fell swoop. Ended up staying up a little to late because of it, but the ending was well worth it.

Lots of twists and turns with a very unexpected ending. A quick read.
You will not want to put this book down. It is definitely a thriller, a sizzling tale of a womanwith a deadly appetite and the men who dare to fall for her. Hot sex and scary at the same time!
James Patteron at his best. This was a 2005 International Thriller of the Year, and definetly lives up to it.
This is a story about a woman who marries and then kills her husbands for their money and also about the FBI agent who is tracking her. Very fast paced..lots of sex and action!
As always, I loved this book. Patterson's ability to write a story that is so engaging...particularly the short chapters causes the reader to keep reading long into the night. I finished it in 3 sittings, reading 100 pages at a time.
Patterson at his best-loved this book!
I couldn't put it down!!!

From Publishers Weekly
To be published on Valentine's Day, this solid and enjoyable but not exceptional thriller about a Black Widow killer has been selected by Bookspan as the "2005 International Thriller of the Year." That's obviously jumping the gun, and probably has more to do with the unusual sales gambit by which Bookspan was allowed to sell the book prior to bookstore distribution than with the novel's quality. Still, megaseller Patterson, here writing for the first time with Roughan (The Up and Comer), again shows his usual flair for brisk narrative, strong suspense and genuine twists in tracing the story of how FBI agent John O'Hara tracks down serial killer Nora Sinclair. As the novel opens, beautiful Nora, an interior designer for the very rich, and already wealthy after having killed her first husband for his inheritance, is juggling an engagement to a hedge-fund manager in tony Briarcliff Manor in upstate New York and a marriage to a bestselling author in Boston. She intends to kill both, but chooses the hedge-fund manager first; after she poisons him, enter O'Hara, posing as a sympathetic insurance investigator but secretly working to nab Nora. In time, Nora seduces O'Hara, so his attempt to catch her is compromised by lust; there's also a major subplot involving a suitcase containing documents pointing to more than a billion dollars transferred to Cayman Islands banks, a subplot fully tied into the main plot only near book's end. O'Hara and particularly Nora stand as two of Patterson's most complex characters yet, but the narrative, while nearly impossible to stop reading, doesn't have the emotional pull of the author's Alex Cross novels or some of his Women's Murder Club titles.

I enjoyed the book but there were a couple of questions that I don't think got answered
Easy read and a good story.
black widow type killer. Poisons her husbands and fiance.
another great thriller from James Patterson
Nora Sinclair is not just a successful interior designer, attractive, enthralling, desired by men and envied by women, she is also a cold, dangerous serial killer, a black widow of sorts, luring men into her life for their money and then committing the perfect murder until her latest victim, her fiancé Connor Brown, under suspicion for tax evasion, gets the attention of FBI agent John O'Hara. Connor's sister, Elizabeth, is skeptical of Nora's motives and starts an investigation of her own. This was another, fast-paced, unputdownable thriller by James Patterson. My only squabble - I felt I was left hangin' with regard to the letter that Olivia Sinclair wrote to her daughter, Nora, which Nora never got a chance to read thanks to Olivia's nurse, Emily, who took the letter. What did Olivia reveal in that letter? Did it have to do with their past or was Olivia simply warning her daughter to watch what she said at the Pine Wood Psychiatric Facility because everything was recorded? I hate to assume!
Very good, couldn't put it down. from back cover-How does it feel to be desired by every man and envied by every woman? Wonderful. This is the life Nora Sinclair has worked hard for, the life she will never give up. She doesn't just attract men, she entrhalls them. So why is FBI agent John O'Hara interested in Nora Siclair? Mysterious things happen to peple around her, especially the men. And there is something dangerous about Nora, sonething that lures O'Hara at the same time that it fills him with fear.
I could not put this down. Great Read
Quick read and leaves you on the edge of your seat.
Entertaining.
Good Patterson Novel
Very, very good.
This was my first read with James Patterson and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Good read.
Nora Sinclair is desired by every man and envied by every woman.she has worked hard for the life she'll never give up So why is FBI agent John O'Hara interested in Nora? Mysterious things happen to people around her.
Great story with a few plot twists. Interesting premise.
Good mystery.
Excellent read in Patterson style. The short chapters make it whiz by. A must read for travel or beach.
GREAT book!
This is a thriller that keeps you on edge until the last page!
Another fast-paced thriller from Patterson, et al. This one was basically about an undercover FBI agent on the trail of a "black widow" killer who he seems to fall in love with. It was on a par with some of Patterson's more recent thrillers such as The Quickie, and Swimsuit. Would give this one a mild recommendation if you want a good page-turner.
How does it feel to be desired by every man and envied my every woman? Wonderful. This is the life of Nora SSinclair. She doesnt just attract men she enthralls them. So why is FBI agent John O'Hara interested in Nora? Read and find out. THe best of Patterson.
enjoyed the book, well worth reading.
Another good suspense by Patterson. Nora Sinclair has it all. So why do the people around her keep dying?
2005 International Thriller of the Year. A sizzling, twisted tale of FBI agents, obsession, and secrets.
FBI Agent John O'Hara is interested in beautiful Nora Sinclair. Why? Because mysterious things happen to the people around her - especially the men! A quick-paced read that will leave you reluctant to put the book down! I loved it.
WARNING: I am a James Patterson fan and to my mind's eye, he prepares no junk. This is the International Thriller of the Year, #1 NY TImes Bestseller as well as those of USA Today, Wall Street Journal, LA TImes, Chicago Tribune. Having said all that -- READ THIS BOOK. TAKE THE TIME TO REALLY READ AND ENJOY THIS BOOK. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!
was fantastic. Nora Sinclair is a great character. Enjoy!
I was dissapointed in the ending - but overall a good read.
Fun, quick read. Nothing heartpounding but enjoyed the characters.
James Patterson is one of my favorite authors. While I did like the book and easily read the book in a few days, I did not like the way it jumped back and forth between characters telling the story.
I am a huge James Patterson fan and this book was one of his best! It took me 2 days to finishe because I couldn't put it down. I highly reccommend it.
given to me - not a Patterson fan.
I don't think I have yet read a stand alone book by Patterson that was worth my while reading. This is another one of those I wish I could have gotten my time back and read something worth reading.
GREAT BOOK. LOVED IT. Anything by James Patterson is a great read. As usual...couldn't put it down.

Excellent read!
An excellent read. I found myself not wanting to put it down.
I received this book right before Christmas. This book was a stay up night, read all day book. This is one of the first books that James Patterson has written with a female serial killer. The end was so fitting and it put a true meaning to Carma.
Great read!!!!!
Great read!!!!!
Another good book by Patterson, but not one of my favorites. Good easy read!
How does it feel to be desired by every man and envied by every woman? Wonderful. This is the life Nora Sinclair has worked hard for, the life she will never give up. She joesn't just attract men, she enthralls them. So why is FBI agent John O'hara interested in Nora Sinclair? Mysterious tings happen to people around her, especially the men. And there is something dangerous about Nora, something that lures O'hara at the same time that it fills him with fear. Is something dark hidden in the gaps in her past? As O'hara spends more and more time getting to know her, is he pursuing justice? Or his own fatal obsession?
It was weird being in the head of a black widow, who also happens to be a successful interior decorator in one chapter and then in the head of a government agent in the next. But it worked. I kept turning the pages to figure out when their paths would cross or how it all fit together. I kept hearing the lyrics to the song "The Bitch is Back" whenever Nora returned to another lovers' home.
I really enjoyed this book. I like the authors that James Patterson has been using.
This was a fun read; loved the bad gal.
great read
Fabulous - couldn't put it down! Lots of excitement, drama and intrigue...typical James Patterson!
A good quick read with an "in your face" beginning and an ending you thought you weren't going to get. Very well done.
A good evening read.

A good FAST read. Not a whole lot of depth and as with all of Patterson's books, questions left unanswered. But the book does KEEP YOU GOING and there are no dull spots!!

Patterson creates some characters that I really hope never exist in reality. Nora is one of them. Excellent mystery that snowed me completely in the end. Could not put it down!
Good Book - Easy Read. Typical James Patterson Book
I did not enjoy this book as much as other James Patterson books. But it was worth a one time read.
