Interesting look at the difficulty understanding how one's birth mother could give them up for adoption. An interesting book for adoptive parents to read with their child to help navigate this difficult topic.

Definitely for the die hard Tolkien fan. May not be as appealing to the average reader.

A delightful book about the adventures of a girl in a large family. Thoroughly funny and a great read-aloud!

My 11 year old daughter enjoyed the book along with the other titles by Balliett.

This book is overflowing with ideas for being intentional about your faith and raising your children. Ideas for incorporating your faith into your decorating, your traditions, and into rites of passage for young people. Also would make a great resource for a church trying to plan meaningful events for young people. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It's my favorite gift for new parents to help them reframe their idea of what it means to live by faith and communicate that faith to their children.

This series from Scholastic is very kid engaging. Full color photos, some overlays, and stickers (when new) help bring the lesson home to young people.

Lots of ideas for activities that relate to math (your kids won't even know they are learning). Great for a variety of ages.

In interesting day in the life of sixth graders "flying solo" with no teacher or sub. The kids surprised themselves and were able to get a glimpse of some of the strengths in one another that they'd never seen before.

This was a bit disappointing. Not the usual wholesome story we've come to expect from American Girl. A friend's dad committed suicide and another friend was hanging out with goth group. Wish it had focused more on the music aspect.

Thought it brought up rather mature topics.

This was another interesting glimpse into one school year with Hayden's classroom. What makes this story unique is how much Hayden helps out the mother of one of her students. The transformation that occurs during the year is nothing short of remarkable. Very inspirational read.

Halperin, the illustrator is what makes this book 5 stars. Each detailed drawing tells a story all its own. A book to read and read again.

It must be a good book because my daughter checked it out numerous times from the library before requesting a copy through PBS. Enjoyable for middle school boys and girls.

Christian's journey to the Celestial City is an allegory with rich symbolism and unforgettable lessons. This is a book everyone should read. This particular edition is particularly beautiful.

I find Hayden's classroom work fascinating and incredibly inspiring. The amount of time, love, and sheer determination she pours into her classroom bring about amazing results. She is truly a miracle worker.

Hayden is a remarkable educator and this book gives a glimpse into the life of one of her students several years after she taught her. Although Hayden is a special educator, anyone who cares about children will be touched by her dedication and commitment to help those whom society may have let down--not just those in the field of special education.

This a fabulous project book that revives a paper art from long ago. Crafters are given a little history lesson on the origin on the art and then given clear instructions and a wealth of ideas for making all sorts of things. Who would have thought that twirling paper could be so much fun?! A little patience is needed for glueing and assembling but the finished product is worth the effort.
