A quick and easy read. The type of book that you finish but can out down without much effort. The mystery features widowed antique-print dealer Maggie Summer visiting her friends in Maine. When she arrives, she discovers haunting in the house and chaos in the marriage. This story covers new relationships, family inheritances, marriage problems, sex and jealousy.

Second in the series of Maggie Summer, antique print dealer and college professor. Maggie answers a call for help from a friend who just moved to Maine and discovers many puzzling things happening. You learn a great deal about antique prints, which is interesting.

I enjoyed it - Maine - antiques - a mystery - female characters - what more could I ask for?

2nd in the series and a definite improvement over the first. There wasn't a whole lot of excitement, but the story was decent, fairly well-thought out and well-written. I'd like to see a faster pace and less extraneous details in the next one.

Excellent story, very informative. Interesting about family dynamics in close communities that are generations old in one place. Living in a closed community can be a real lively experience. As usual her descriptions of prints, lithos and engravings with some history to go with them is always good. Learning alot about old prints. Light romance beginning, nice characters to read about. Looking forward to the next one.

Enjoyed this second book of Lea Wait's. It is fun to read a cozy mystery and learn some history about different areas of the country, past and present customs. It made the book more interesting and the whole situation more believable.

One of the "Shadows on/at..." series. In this one, Maggie Summers (38) visits her type-A college roommate, who has bought a big old house in Maine, and who is desperate to get have a child; but all is not right. A baby can be heard crying in the night and other strange and frightening things happen. Is there a ghost in the house, or is this the work of neighbors who resent the outsiders from New York? Then the body of a missing teenages girl is found on the property...
The level of sex and violence is comparable to that of an Agatha Christie mystery--i.e., no detailed, horrific, or disgusting descriptions--and I found the book a comfortable and easy read.

Fairly interesting little cozy. Lots of info regarding antique prints and colonial artifacts. The mystery wasn't too hard to solve, but was enjoyable.

Second in the series about a college lecturer and part time antiques dealer who gets involved with murder and mystery. A bit like Jessica Fletcher in "Murser She Wrote" but the main characters are younger and the focus is on antiques not books. Very readable and easy to get hooked on.
