The Pagan Stone is the conclusion to the Sign of Seven trilogy (see Blood Brothers & The Hollow). Gage Turner, Caleb Hawkins, and Fox O'Dell have been friends all their life. On the eve of their tenth birthday they went to the Pagan Stone to go camping. There they did a ritual and become blood brothers and unwittingly releasing a demon. Every seven years, in the seventh month, on the seventh day the demon comes out and terrorizes Hawkins Hollow for seven days.
Fast forward 21 years. With the help of Cybil Kinski, Quinn Black, and Layla Darnell the three "brothers" will fight the demon once more. But this time it's for keeps. The demon has been gaining strength and this is the year that it will end one way or the other. The 6 friends must beat the demon.
If you have read the first two books then you already knew that Cybil and Gage would get together and fall in love. I would definitely recommend the series.

I thought this was a good end to the trilogy. It was predictable, but there were enough twists and "unknowns" that I didn't know how the final outcome would be reached. Excellent story! I thought, though, that there was more emphasis on the love relationships than there was in the first two books and less on the "supernatural". That was a little disappointing to me, but it was still a good conclusion to a great trilogy.

This was an okay series of 3 books to tell a story but it was mostly about falling in love and sex. I was disappointed that the 'main' story was few and far between.

The book was good, but the ending felt sort of anti-climactic to me. Typical Norah Roberts book - entertaining, easy read without much substance.

I thought I knew how it would end, I kept trying to guess the outcome, but I was wrong! Great ending to the trilogy. It's one of those stories you wish could keep going on. You won't be disappointed.

This novel was a combination of humor, romance, adventure, and edge-of-your-seat suspense. I finished this one in 2 days.

This isn't a usual Nora Roberts book. I couldn't read past the first few chapters. It is about demons and ghouls and totally bloody. Not my kind of reading.

THis third book in the SIGNS OF SEVEN trilogy centers on the connection between Gage and Cybil. And, for the first 100 pages, it moves very, very slowly. Not only are Gage and Cybil hesitant to act on their romantic impulses, but the plot also gets bogged down with theories of the three blood brothers and their three ladies. THere is so much about charts, graphs, suppositions, what-ifs, fears, strategies, counter-strategies, etc. that for awhile I seriously thought about not even finishing the book. Instead, I was going to write and complain to Nora Roberts' editor, and whoever is in charge of stream-lining her manuscripts.
However, the action finally resumed and things started happening. The story became interesting and lively again. The romance between Gage and Cybil spiced things up a bit and blossomed before the grand finale happened in July at the Pagan Stone.
All in all, it was an interesting trilogy.

Couldn't wait to finish this one but not because it was so good, but I had to see how it ended. This was like book 2 of the series in that the six spent so much time and energy

As with all of Nora Roberts' books, this was absolutely wonderful. It is the third of three and although it can be read alone, to get the most out of it, it should be read with the other three.

The third book in the Sign of Seven Trilogy. I love these books. Not your typical romance since the paranormal aspect takes the centerstage. The characters are great and the good vs. evil angle is interesting. It does seem that Nora Roberts didn't really know how to wrap up the series... but other than a mildly abrupt ending, this is a great read and a fantastic end for the trilogy.
I liked this series. I pretty much like all of Nora Robert's stuff. The story line was great, but the language in this one was pretty bad. This dropped the F-word about every other page.
Suspense, love, intruige, and courage are the main ingredents for this supernatural tale.

Not my favorite of N.R., but you usually cannot go wrong picking up one of her books. One of my favorite authors!
During the last book, Nora winds to a climax in the fight of good versus evil. The third couple in the group of six develop a relationship and she puts it to the supreme test.

From my favorite Nora Roberts trilogy -- wonderful combination of the occult with mystery, suspense and romance. Once you pick one of these up, it's really hard to put it down!
This was a great conclusion to the Sign of Seven series. Fast paced, with edge of your seat suspense.
Of the three book trilogy, I thought this was the weakest and least satisfying. Rather disappointing, really. I guess as is true of many trilogies, the first book was the best and went steadily downhill from there. And much like my wedding, there was a lot of anticipation, but the dénouement was disappointing.
I am only aa little way into this book, but the first two in the series were fun easy reads. I am really enjoying this series. S good mix of supernatural and light romance.
I truly do enjoy Nora Roberts books, however I'm not the biggest fan of this series. It has nothing to do with the writing and more to do with the plot. This is more of a thriller/ ghost story wrapped up in a romance. While I enjoy the inventiveness, I'm just not a fan of thrillers.
I really liked this book, the trilogy was great. However, I think I would have liked Ms. Roberts to go on a little further than the way she ended this one. Anyway, I would still recommend this book/trilogy.

A good series.....one must read the first two books first for this one to make sense...I did enjoy the series but felt this book was more "out there" than the other two..however I have come to expect that from Nora Roberts and that is exactly why I read her books

This the final book in the thrilling story of intrigue and mystery about three boys whose boyhood experience changes their lives forever.
I thought this book was great. A perfect ending to the Sign of Seven Trilogy. Predictable, but enough twists getting to the end that it wasn't boring. I finished it four hours.
The story was a great ending to the series. Nora Roberts had me with the first book "Blood Brothers." I liked how the relationships carried out through the series as well. This story about Gage and Cybil, two headstrong people, was great as well as their battle with evil.
This book wraps up the trilogy nicely. You gotta love Nora Roberts when she is on a roll!
I enjoyed the trilogy very much. I liked the story and characters. I did think there was going to be a longer or more involved final battle with the demon. It just seemed to wrap up rather quickly at the end. Maybe I expected more because of the LONG wait between the release of books 2 and 3!

Final book, tied everything together well. Wanted more books with these characters after I was done reading all three books in the series.
In a trilogy marked by ongoing weirdness, this is probably the weirdest. It is appealing on some levels because it draws the trilogy to an action-packed close, but leaves the reader with some odd feelings.
The Plot:

As said above, the book is just plain odd. It takes a departure from anything believable or logical. Even ignoring logic, there are some plot twists that barely make sense or serve a purpose at all.
The romance is present, but in large part overshadowed. At the end I felt like I missed the part where Gage and Cybil actually fell in love.

I read the trilogy. Really something and it kept my interest. Got to know the characters really well. I recommend it.

The Hollow (book 2) swept me along with with an excellent story-line, continuing an in depth look at the characters and the building relationships- although less of a pull you in book- since the grab was established in book one The Hollow drew me farther into the series and I cared about what happened to the characters. I couldn't wait to get The Pagan Stone.
I am so very disappointed with this book. Something seems to have fallen flat in the story, the writing seems to be forced and the excitement is hollow. I have picked the book up and sat it down 4 times now and after as many days & sessions as hours it took me to read Blood Brothers I am only to the seventh chapter of this book. The prolog started off great and up to par with the writing of the previous two in the trilogy. I have the feeling that she must have written more attached to the prolog and had it nixed or edited out and somehow that lost the flow of the writing into the third book and cut off the in depth view of Gage that would have carried the reader into this book that centers on Gage and Cybil's relationship. I am hoping that this issue somehow gets rectified as the story continues, because I will finish it just to see what happens. I'm disappointed though because I was greatly looking forward to a page turner like the first two and instead am having to struggle through a book I am only continuing because of wanting to see what happens after the first two.

The interchanges between the characters and situations were becoming less believable and while I've heard the book does get better shortly after the point I stopped at from others who also experienced my frustration with the first 100 pages or so, I will probably wait a few months before picking the book up again.
Not all of Nora Roberts books are GREAT, and not all the characters are wonderful or believable, and perhaps as this is a 'long awaited' book it's adding to my inability to stomach it, but this one was an unfortunate disappointment :(
