The plot was pretty hard to believe, but I allowed my willing suspension of disbelief while reading it. The epilogue really made me wonder why I wasted a week on reading it, however. The ending did not do it justice at all and left me very confused.

I enjoy suspense novels with the added bit of romance, but I've noticed they all tend to follow the same script. Girl meets boy, are chased by bad guy, girl and boy end up in bed, and beat the bad guy in the end. But when you add in the supernatural, that's when things get interesting! If you love Dean Koontz as well as authors like Karen Robards and Sandra Brown, then you'll love this! I loved this first book in the trilogy and immediately went out and found the second book, "The Hollow" at the library. Can't wait for the final installment to be released!

I found this one difficult to get into at the start. There are so many historical and alchemical references that went right over my head. But once the actual story starting moving, I couldn't put it down. Definitely some plot holes that bother me, but I have been able to look over them. Already ordered the next book on Amazon.

Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia

Like others, I found myself bored halfway through India. I skimmed a lot of it. I enjoyed some of it, but mostly it was long and tedious to read. Still wondering why this is such a popular book.

After I read "Blood Brothers" in just a few short days, I went out and got this one at the library and read it all in less than 24 hours! I am loving the storyline that adds the supernatural with suspense and romance. The first book followed one of the "pairs", Caleb and Quinn. This book followed Fox and Layla. I love how she is focusing on each one of the "brothers" in their own book. Can't wait for the final installment!

Irish Born: Born in Fire / Born in Ice / Born in Shame (Born In, Bks 1-3)

This book has the entire trilogy of Born in Flame, Born in Ice, and Born in Shame. Great to have all books together so when you finish one, you just turn the page to start the next! Great story line about Irish sisters. Makes me want to visit Ireland!

Even though the subject matter was hard to read, it was well worth it. The message is one of hope, love, and survival.

It's been several years since I've read Dean Koontz. I was pleasantly surprised by the humor that mirrored the gloom and doom in the story line. Great plot twists, great story.

I am really enjoying this series except for one thing - some time inaccuracies. In this book, her nephew is two years old, but from her second installment, which supposedly happened a year and a half to two years before, he was 18-months old. He doesn't seem to be getting older at the same rate as everyone else!

Despite inaccuracies such as this, this series is a fun, easy read. I find myself drooling over Anatoly, and he's only a character!

I thought I knew how it would end, I kept trying to guess the outcome, but I was wrong! Great ending to the trilogy. It's one of those stories you wish could keep going on. You won't be disappointed.

A heartbreaking and haunting story of how women lived (and were treated) in 19th century China. As the mother to a daughter adopted from China, it hit a bit close to home for me. This was a very emotional read and is not for the light-hearted. Have tissues ready.

I wanted an easy read with some mystery but also light-heartedness. Despite some glaring plot issues that took me awhile to forgive, it was what I expected. I'll read the next in the series to see if I want to continue with all of them.
