Amazing book, such a care-free story line. I am not sure I would have the guts to marry someone based on an add and move accross the united states. This story has it all, humor, love, growing, understanding, and learning who one really is at the end of the day.

Debbie Macomber once again writes a great story that holds the readers interest to the very end. Excellent read that I didn't want to put down.

Much better than I had anticipated it would be!!! Modern day marriage of convenience story between a rugged rancher raising his nephews and a shy, plain librarian from Louisiana.

This is probably my favorite Macomber book. I've never met a Macomber book I didn't like either. Some are better than others but to me this is Debbie Macomber at her best.

This was a treasure of a book. It shows that if you have the courage, you can accomplish what you thought would never happen. Debbie Macomber never ceases to amaze me with the many lessons of life she puts into her stories.

A good romantic read. Humerous and heart-warming. Debbie Macomber at her best.

This was a very sweet story. I like Debbie Macomber books as they are not "trashy" but have some sweet romance parts. They don't go into great detail. Goood story. All her books are excellent I think.

i loved this book! It had romance and mystery. This was one of the best Debbie Macomber books I have read. There are those I read and those I will read again. This one I will read again and recommend highly.

A easy, quick read. Light-hearted romance with adventure.
Helpful Score: 1
I enjoyed this book, although I found it bit more "cookie-cutter" and predictable than her other books. It read more like just a typical romance novel; very quick read. The storyline kept my interest and I recommend it for romance-novel-lovers.
A very sweet, enjoyable love story. I liked the characters - especially the children. The sex scenes are a bit more descriptive than Macomber's current books, but I think they are appropriate for the characters and storyline.
Helpful Score: 1
This is a great book about how love comes after marriage...not before. It is about a marriage between two folks who marry sight unseen and then grow in love.

Modern day mail order bride goes west on an airplane. Wonderful story of the deveoplement of romantic relationship with husband and his adopted children.

I've always enjoyed Debbie Macomber's books and this one is no exception. I had the mystery figured out before the end but that's okay it was still a good book.
Helpful Score: 1
I usually read books about librarians, hoping someday to find one that doesn't stick to the stereotype of a dowdy, shy, unremarkable woman. This one isn't it! But it is a good story, reminiscent of the children's book, "Sarah, Plain and Tall." And this one is definitely for adults.

This is a very sweet story about a shy librian who is lonely. She answers an adveritisement for a wife. Travis Thompson a rancher must keep his 3 orphaned nephews and neice together and cannont get any one to help him out in Montana so, he decides to marry to keep the family together.
Another good romance from debbie macomber. enjoyable read
really enjoyed this book.
Very good read.
Macomber has a sweet story that will gently tug on the heartstrings.
Good Montana romance. I love a book that is based on the theory it doesn't matter what you look like if you can cook.
Great book! Fast read and loveable characters!
I liked this book very much.
Different cover, same story. Cowboy sends for stereotypical librarian as mail order bride with unexpected results. Usual older Macomber story, very good read.
The book was very good. I don't usually buy new paperback books by Debbie Macomber but this one caught my interest so intstead of looking for it at the used book store I went ahead and bought it.
The cover looks different in the picture, but it's same book and it still good!

This was a wonderful romance! The kids just add to the story. Funny and tender.
Another heart warming story. I couldn't put it down.
Great book. Another good by Debbie.
a good book.
One of the better ones by Macomber. She is not my favorite but once in a while she writes a gem of a novel. That's why I seem to keep reading her even though I trash half the stuff she writes.
This was quite a sweet, fun novel. It was a silly premise but such an easy read. The characters were great and there were some interesting dialogue. I have always thought dialogue was one of Macomber's weak points so it was a pleasant surprise. Yes, it's predictable but it's a fluffy romance so you can't expect much. I'm also not sure that a wife would be any cheaper than a housekeeper.
Macomber usually writes very PG love scenes but this one was more like an R rating. It's not smutty or kinky, just a little more description of the deed. It was on the tame, tasteful side.
There were a few complaints I have. Macomber continues to recycle the same characters but just slaps a different name on them which was very disappointing. Another one was that she doesn't explain why Mary who was so mousy suddenly becomes a whole different person in Montana. So if you were to take this novel seriously, there are some serious character inconsistency. But again, it's a fluff romance so you have to lower your expectations.
Overall, it was a good read if you are for some brainless fun.

I've not read much of Macomber's work but I enjoyed this and will be reading more of her stuff. Quick read.

Nice heartwarming story.
Nice heartwarming story.
A rerun of an old one but good.
A great read!
Loved it! Read it in one day.....
Another Debbie Macomber heartwarmer about a librarian in Louisiana who answers an ad placed by a Montana rancher for a bride. Seems his brother and sister-in-law left him with their three little children to raise - and well, you can guess the rest. But Macomber has a wonderful way with characters and the inevitable remains fresh. Highly recommended.
Nice story although a tad bit sappy.
Romance about a lonely woman who answers a want ad in the paper from a rancher who needs help raising his brother's children. Heartwarming. Cover has a different picture from the stock photo - a ranch house with mountains in the background.
Debbie Macomber does it again. She takes you into her world and holds you there until you finish the book.
I really like these type of books. This is the first book I have read by this author. I really liked it.
Very good book. Very entertaining, quick read and I loved the characters.
This was a great book. I really enjoyed it.
Great story, as usual Debbie Macomber comes thru. Travis Thompson, a rancher who has never been married is raising his three orphan children and isn't doing so great, so they decide to advertise for a wife. Mary Warner, a shy spinster librarian answers their ad and finds the life she is missing. Good story and wonderful characters.
Very quick read!
Dear Mr. Travis Thompson,
I am responging to your advertisement for a wife. My name is Mary Warner, and I am a librarion in Petite, Lousisiana. I do sing, sew and cook very well, but I suspect that I am most needed in the lives of those three little ones left in your care.
I understand that you are neither looking for nor expecting to find true love, and given that I've gone so long without it, neither am I. In fact, though I blush to admit it, I know very little of men. So you needn't worry about any untoward advances or unforgettable nights of passion.
It is my sole hope that together we might be able to comfort the children and each other so that the light of caring, if not of love, might shine through the long, dark, cold Montana nights.
Looking forward to your reply, I remain,
Mary Warner

I wanted a lighthearted read, and while I got this from this book, mostly, I was disappointed in the language and all the sexual details. I'm not a prude! I know what kinds of books to find these kinds of details, and I was surprised to find them in Debbie's book. Granted, this took place 25 years ago, I can't imagine someone moving across the country these days.
I can't believe that two people can be thrust to gether so quickly and learn to get along in such a short period of time.
I will have to say, the ending was satisfactory.
