This book is very funny. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the statements made by Chelsea. I would recommend this book even to some senior citizens (like myself) that have a 'young at heart' and spirit mind. I would not recommend this book for anyone pre-teen or young teen as it has many sextual statements and stories in the book.

Anne Tyler also wrote the Mermaid Chair which I loved. This book was a good read but I didn't think as good as the Mermaid Chair. It shows family interaction, sometimes funny, sometimes sad. It also shows how the family uses their stepmother, Beck for support, babysitting, caring for an elder member, etc. It also shows how Beck through questioning her role gets satisfaction by being needed.

This book was one selected for a monthly gay/lesbian book club. The book contains interviews with all of the top celeb-bear-ties. It challenges the conventional image of male beauty. It was interesting but will appeal mostly to gay men.

Sad book about Ruth, living in a dysfunctional family. Matt, her older brother gets all the attention and love while Ruth is criticized. Ruth thinks she finally gets her chance in life by meeting Ruby, a special needs man. Their daily day to day life, that is about 3/4 of the book, give a special insight into their happiness and sorrows. The ending is shocking. This is not a happy book. It's not a love story with a happy ending. It is a book of reality, of the way some people live their lives. A book you will remember.
