Not my favorite Crusie but still pretty good. Lots of characters to keep track of though and still not sure who some worked for or which were good guys/bad guys but still a good book!

I really enjoy reading Crusies books and with teaming up with Mayer, they have written an awesome book that is funny, romantic and just enough action that one cannot wait to find out how it all ends. I cannot wait to read their next book.

Just finished this book and it was so good. I really did not know what to expect with the 'male view point'. I was afraid it would be something obvious or distracting, but it wasn't. The story unfolded in a normal Crusie flow.( I borrowed from the library, sorry I don't have it to post for you.)

This was definately my least favorite Jennifer Crusie book. I was very excited when it came out, but kind of let down after reading it. Not that it was bad, I just wanted better. There are a lot of characters and I felt I didn't get to know them as well as characters in previous books. There was more technial info than I wanted also.

I love Cruise, Mayer added leaves a book you don't want to put down!

Lots of him-thinking-about-her/her-thinking-about-him stuff. They don't even kiss until halfway through the book, but lots of good chemistry and an interesting plot. Was a very happy reader by the end of it.

Fun book, not one of Jennifer Crusie's better stories though.

Not my favorite Crusie novel, but it was a funny mystery / light romance with interesting plot twists.

I usually love Jennifer's writing style. This seemed to drag.

Jennifer Crusie writes very funny chick-lit, full of sassy heroines and dialogue that fizzes and bubbles like champagne. Bob Mayer writes action-adventure thrillers. And when the two get together, they produce . . . a big disappointment. This tale of a movie set being used as a cover to move stolen merchandise is leaden and slow, with too much testosterone to be chick-lit and too much touchy-feely romance to be a thriller. Blech.

More storyline than romance but with great fleshed out characters and lots of laugh out loud moments. I enjoyed it.

Great story!
I love Jennifer Crusie, but wasn't so wild about this.
I really enjoyed this book. It had the romance that I expected from Jennifer Crusie and a great action tale. The story was woven together well. The plot is a bit complicated so you need to pay attention. That said,I couldn't wait to finish the book.
it was a very cute book
cute, funny romance that takes place between two unlikely people a movie director and a career military man.
This was a very interesting book. I really enjoyed it.
Maybe my expectations were too high...however, I didn't find this book as funny as they can both get..I only finished it for the sake of reading it.
This book was very funny and I loved it. But I liked it so much I bought it twice. :-) All of the Jennifer Crusie books are delightful!!!
Quick read. Very entertaining! It's so much more interesting to read about women who take charge than those who wait to be saved. Looking forward to Crusie and Mayer's next collaboration.
her newest release. In true Crusie style. Good to the very end. I found myself looking for more as usual.
This book is so madcap that it seems forced. I'm not sure if the Mayer/Crusie collaboration is better than Crusie's solo novels. Still, this is a funny, light-hearted romantic comedy that most will enjoy. Recommended.
I loved this book...but then I love anything by Jennifer Crusie. Her books are sexy, funny and very hard to put down. :) Enjoy!!!
Lucy is hired to finish directing the last four days of a movie. J.T.Wilder is hired as a military consultant for the movie. The story combines wit, romance and fast action in a story with a surprise ending.
A romance and action story all in one. Lucy is trying to finish directing a movie which somehow gets involved with the Russian Mob etc etc. This book took me almost a month to finish. Maybe if I read it another time of the year I would have enjoyed it more. But there is romance, sex, guns, fighting, helicoptors, boats, swamp, and gators in the story.
There were a lot of characters to keep up with. It makes sense since it was a movie set. However, it seemed a bit cluttered. It did deliver the promised adventure with a touch of romance. Just a touch though - don't go into this looking for a real love story. The adventure and mystery takes center stage.
Good book, Alpha male and strong female leads!
Sizzling high-octane romantic adventure about a straight-talking woman and a straight-shooting man
It starts out good, then turns to unacceptable language and individual manly comparisons. People who stop to writing trash like this shouldn't write books.
Good book, couldn't put it down.
The 2 authors have written a sexy, sassy and smart combo of suspense and romance. Not quite as good as their other book "Agnes and the Hitman." But well worth reading!
Lucy Armstrong directs television commercials and she's just been recruited to finish an action movie shoot. Despite the fact that she actually likes doing commercials and living in New York, everyone keeps calling this her âbig break.â
The stunt director for the film is her ex-husband and the lead actor has just brought on a Green Beret, JT Wilder, as an advisor â and is paying for the Green Beret out of his own pocket. Plus, her sister, Daisy, and young niece, Pepper, are the real reason she accepted the job â they called her and Pepper was in tears asking for her.
When she arrives, pretty much everyone on the movie set has quit and she's getting strange phone calls from the producer demanding that she finish the filming on schedule or he will sue her. Plus, the scene that's being filmed doesn't match with the rest of the storyline â which is a romantic comedy and has no other action scenes. And, a leading man who has inexplicably become a spy.
Lucy and JT start trying to figure out why the filming has changed so much and why someone is sabotaging the shot and causing major catastrophies on the set.
I've enjoyed all the other Jennifer Crusie stories that I've read and this my first Crusie/Mayer collaboration. The story is well written and I did like the story, but it got a bit confusing as to what was going on with the who's trying to do what.

SHE is a director of dog food commercials who has just been recruited to finish a four-day movie shoot. But as soon as Lucy Armstrong arrives on set she discovers the staff is in chaos, the make-up artist is suicidal, and the stunt director just happens to be her ex-husband. And the temperamental lead actor has just acquired as an advisor a Green Beret who has the aggrevating habit of always being right.
HE thought that hiring on as a military consultant for a movie star was a to-die-for deal: easy work, easy money and easier starlets. But his first day on the job, Capt. J.T. Wilder ends up babysitting a bumbling comedian, dodging low-flying helicopters, and trying to find out who's taking "shooting a movie" much too literally.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Zany, sexy, edge of your seat fun.

i couldn't finish it. to many secondary characters and not enough romance between h/h
Loved it!!! I couldn't put it down.
Anything she writes is fabulous!
Not at all what I expected but surprisingly I really liked it. A very good collaboration of Crusie and Mayer. Good read.
It was a very slow beginning and was a little hard to get into. But the when everything started coming together I found it very interesting and enjoyable.
Thought it was a great book. Would love to read another by these two writers.
