It was nice to read the book, and rejoin the Corbin family. However, the story is primarily about Jeff Corbin and his girlfriend-turned wife named Fancy. There's a lot of passion between the two of them and quite a bit of humor since Fancy was a magician with a rabbit, named Herschel, that didn't go along with the hat trick very well. I got rather tired of Fancy, tho. She was crying all the time. Between her insecurity and feels of inferiority, it just about drove me crazy.
In this book, Jeff's old enemy, Temple, manages to do some damage when he and his wife are in a hot air balloon, and during Jeff's brother's wedding. Several of the guests are killed and/or injured. The feud, tho, comes to an end during the final pages of the book.
This is the no. 2 book in the Corbin series. The third is called "Memory's Embrace" and is about Keith Corbin, the brother that became a preacher.
