Can I give this book more than 5 stars? The book deals with so many issues. Two little 7 year old girls are missing one morning. They are best friends. Are they together? One little girl hasn't spoken in 3 years. A tramatic event has left her a selective mute. Does her abusive, alcoholic father have anything to do with her being missing? The book has short chapters, and the chapters are written in first person and titled after the main characters. I don't want to give anything away. If you want more details, read the back cover.
The book moves along at a very brisk pace and is very easy to read. This is one of those books that you will not want to put down. I read it is less that 2 days. It was a library book, so I can't post it for those who have it wishlisted. Be patient. It is worth the wait.
