Detective Nikki Boyd works on the Missing Persons Task Force. She's called out to a home where two people have been murdered, but they aren't the homeowners. The two homeowners are missing. Nikki and her partner Jack Spencer begin their search for Mac and Lucy Hudson. Their first stop leads them to a boat which belongs to Nikki's friend Tyler Grant. Onboard there is another dead body. Nikki doesn't know how Tyler ties into this crime, but she is sure he would never kill anyone. When more bodies begin turning up, it looks like someone is eliminating anyone who can incriminate the killer.

This is the second book in the Nikki Boyd Files. It picks up a couple of weeks after the first story ends. The suspense portion of the story was well done. There was a lot of action and the investigation kept moving forward. Unlike the suspense, the romance moved at a snail's pace. Nikki has fallen for Tyler Grant. His wife was her best friend until she died in an accident a year ago. Nikki loves him from afar; and supports him in his grief. She keeps hoping he will eventually get over the death of his wife and see how much she loves him. I was totally bored by their relationship. Overall, a good suspense story if you just breeze through all the mooning Nikki does over Tyler. My rating: 4 Stars.
