Detective Nikki Boyd works on the Missing Persons Task Force. She's called out to a home where two people have been murdered, but they aren't the homeowners. The two homeowners are missing. Nikki and her partner Jack Spencer begin their search for Mac and Lucy Hudson. Their first stop leads them to a boat which belongs to Nikki's friend Tyler Grant. Onboard there is another dead body. Nikki doesn't know how Tyler ties into this crime, but she is sure he would never kill anyone. When more bodies begin turning up, it looks like someone is eliminating anyone who can incriminate the killer.
This is the second book in the Nikki Boyd Files. It picks up a couple of weeks after the first story ends. The suspense portion of the story was well done. There was a lot of action and the investigation kept moving forward. Unlike the suspense, the romance moved at a snail's pace. Nikki has fallen for Tyler Grant. His wife was her best friend until she died in an accident a year ago. Nikki loves him from afar; and supports him in his grief. She keeps hoping he will eventually get over the death of his wife and see how much she loves him. I was totally bored by their relationship. Overall, a good suspense story if you just breeze through all the mooning Nikki does over Tyler. My rating: 4 Stars.

This book is about the manufacturing of counterfeit drugs which are then distributed to the doctors and given to some patients who are dying. When Mac Hudson who works for the drug company tries to blow the whistle, he is murdered and his wife, Lucy, is now missing. The exciting plot had non-stop action in every chapter which kept the pages turning. The story was very well-written and Lisa Harris did excellent research into the problem of counterfeit drugs and their consequences. Murder mixed with a little romance has Nikki and Tyler's friendship moving closer to a relationship. As in the first book, Nikki is still looking for her missing sister, Sarah, and a few more clues are added to her search. I can't wait to read the third book, Pursued, which I have received from the publisher for an honest review. I would highly recommend this series to those who love murder thrillers mixed with a little romance.
very very slow, characters are bland, story not that great, got very tired of the main character Nikki being obsessed with her best friends husband after she dies--need I go on?
Another case for Nikki Boyd and another suspense ride for me. I found the missing person angle of this book to be fascinating. Even though murder had occurred, there was still an opportunity for Nikki to find a missing person before it happened again. I liked the hope threaded through the suspense.
