A mystery series that got its start from a character in 'The Fifth Knight' trilogy. Powell does a good job creating characters you want to get to know better. The King's Court had just returned and it would be another year before they set off to dispense 'The King's Justice' until a brutal murder in a nearby village requires attention. A clerk and his assistant are dispatched to address what seems a straightforward case until another murder happens. It keeps ya guessing and engaged to the final pages.
