The Immortals is the latest book by J.T. Ellison and it is another winner. Ellison always does her research and she definitely did it for this one.

The Immortals has two story lines going throughout the book. First, we find recently reinstated Lt. Taylor Jackson dealing with a gruesome case of eight teenagers being killed and pagan symbols being carved into their flesh. Who would do such a horrible thing?

Second, we have her fiancé Special Agent John Baldwin being called back to DC to defend a previous case that has some irregularities involved. Will Baldwin lose his job? This is a question that constantly is on his mind as he recounts the case to the oversight members.
The thing that I love about Ellison's pieces of work is that she is the master of research. This book dealt with witchcraft, vampires, and pagan religions and taught me a lot about these subjects. She has a way of creating characters that you can relate to or find appalling.

The reason I am giving it 4 and not 5 stars is that I did not like the back and forth stories between Taylor and Baldwin. I felt discombobulated at times going back and forth. However, I truly enjoyed both stories.

I would highly recommend any of Ellison's books and this one is at the top of my recommendations.
