It is hard for me to describe what this book is really about because it is much deeper than it seems.
Yes it is a love story, but not in the traditional sense. It is about the deep love you feel for your spouse, your children and family, but more importantly it's about loving your fellow man.

It is also about hatred. Thankfully, so much has changed since the 1950's when blacks were considered less than human and were still treated like property in the south and yes many parts of the North as well. There were "NO COLORED" signs in the windows of most restaurants, hotels and other businesses. Segregation was the norm in schools.

Passing Through Perfect will remind you of how far we have come, but it will also help you to realize we long way to go.

There are so many wonderful characters in this book. I loved meeting all of them!
