This was a YA book but was highly recommended and I see why. The characters in this book have so much depth and topics are addressed that push the reader to think beyond stereotypes. Most YA books I've read deal with issues on a very shallow level. Not this book. The main characters seem so real you believe that somewhere they really do exist. The nice thing about this book is the secondary characters are just the same. The author treats them in a way that they don't feel like the typical 2d hap hazard side job that most authors are content with. The most wonderful thing about the main characters in this book are when you put them together with all the layers and problems with their past you really do feel like they were meant to fall in love. There is no pressure for the relationship in the book, it happens in such a natural organic way.
