A realistic story of women, who having lost family members, possessions, and security, along the way, find a way to survive together as they travel westward during the pioneer days of the U.S. They develop their own support system, building trust among each other, and share their resources, building community among themselves. Even so, not all survive. But those who do have a bond of sisterhood that carries them through.

A fascinating story of trials, relationships, adjusting to new ways of life, and more. This was one of those stories that made me want to keep reading.
