What a wonderful and touching book. About a group of women who couldn't be more different, but come together through their differences, faith, and hard times on the Oregon Trail. Highly Recommended, my first Jane Kirkpatrick book i've read and I really enjoyed it.

This is the 1st book of 3 in the series. Much of it is based on history and is really a well-researched book. It really makes you wonder if you would have been able to survive what these women did.
What would you pack if you had to put all your worldly possessions into a covered wagon
and still leave a space to live in. What would you do if your family died on the trail
hundreds of miles away from anything at all.
I read this book in 2 days and just couldn't put it down. I'm already reading the second book and have the 3rd one waiting for me.
Read it and you will grateful for having what you have.

This was a good book with a great story line. The characters were somewhat difficult to keep straight but the story had alot to it. I would have liked to have seen more involvement with the indian characters and the travelers who just drove on by the women in the story..It gave you something to think about.

First book in a series of 3 . My opinion the best of the 3. I enjoy historical, and strong female characters, this book has both!

Easy read, I have read several books by Jane Kirkpatrick, and enjoy her style.

I read all three books in this trilogy and enjoyed them all. All Together in One Place was the best of the three. A wonderful depiction of what it was like to travel the Oregon Trail.

Based on an actual 1852 Oregon Trail incident. A young newlywed couple makes the trek West. A story of strength & courage & lessons learned along the way.

This was a fascinating story. The writer took an entry from someone's diary from that period of time and wove together a very believable story of what could have taken place. Very well written.

The story of the courageous women, on a wagontrain headed west, when most of their men and also some women come down with a deadly illness.

Although Kirkpatrick has many fans among historical fiction buffs, I don't care for her writing style. I find it sort of amateurish.

A great story of women, set on the Oregon Trail in 1852. I couldn't put it down and can't wait to start the sequel.

From the back cover:

"For Madison "Mazy" Bacon, a young wife living in southern Wisconsin, the future appears every bit as promising as it is reassuringly predictable. A loving marriage, a well-organized home, the pleasure of planting an early spring garden--these are the carefully-tended dreams that sustain her heart and nourish her soul.

But when her husband of two years sells the homestead and informs her that they are heading west, Mazy's life is ripped down the middle like a poorly mended sheet forgotten in a midwestern storm. Her love is tried, her boundaries stretched, and the fabric of her faith tested. At the same time, she and eleven extraordinary women are pulled toward an uncertain destiny--one that binds them together through reluctance and longing and into acceptance and renewal.

Based on an actual 1852 Oregon Trail incident, All Together in One Place, Book One in the Kinship and Courage series, speaks to the strength in every woman and celebrates the promise of hope that unfailingly blooms amidst tragedy and challenge."
