I've been meaning to read this series for a while, but have put them off until now. Big mistake! I've been missing out, folks. I'm so glad I read this one because I simply can't wait to read the others.

Is there anything better than finishing a fantastic book on a cold winter's day? The answer is no, especially when it involves this author. I was absolutely absorbed in this story. Sarah MacLean writes with such passion that you lose yourself in the characters, and the romance. The secondary characters are stellar all on their own. I cannot wait to read their stories.

If you've not read this series, please give them a go! I highly recommend this book. There's nothing not to love about it.

Brava, Ms. MacLean! I'm on to the next.

My favorite quotes:
It wasn't supposed to be this way.
She wasn't supposed to affect him like this.
He wasn't supposed to want her so very much.
He wasn't supposed to be so very drawn to this adventurous, exciting woman who had evolved from the woman he'd married.
And yet he was.

He drew one hand down her arm in a long, lush stroke. "You terrify me." His lips twisted into a wry smile as his fingers stroked and teased at the soft skin of her wrist, her elbow, her shoulder.
"How is that possible?"
"I can't take small tastes of you, love. I can only gorge on you. You're irresistible." He pressed a kiss to her shoulder, his tongue coming out to lave the skin there. "You're like the rattle of dice. The shuffle of cards. You call to me until I ache with desire for you." The words were a whisper of breath at the base of her neck. "I could easily become addicted to you."
The words set her heart pounding. "And that is bad?"
He chuckled, the rumble of laughter vibrating against her stomach and breasts. "For me, yes. Very very bad."

He stilled. "Penelope." She opened her eyes, meeting his serious black gaze. He leaned down and took her lips in a long, slow, promise- filled kiss. "I'm so sorry you ever felt dishonored, love...in this moment, there is nothing about you that I do not find utterly precious. Know that."
Tears came to her eyes at the words, stunning and filled the truth.
She nodded. "I do."
