I read this book in two days. It was too good to put down for long. I enjoy this "chick lit" author because she writes entertaining stories that make you root for happy endings. This book is focused on Lorna, Sandra and Helena...three women who's lives have been overtaken by their lust for shoe shopping. Lorna is a young woman who is near bankruptcy due to the fact that she spends too much money on shoes and not enough paying her bills. Sandra is an overweight phone sex operator who is an agorophobic. She is addicted to online shoe shopping. Helena is a gorgeous wife of a politician who cheats on her and doesn't show her love. Helena uses shoe shopping as a diversion from her unhappy life. When she is caught shoplifting Helena finds herself being blackmailed by a photographer. When Lorna creates a group for shoe lovers who want to swap high end shoes, both Sandra and Helena join the group. Lorna, Helena and Sandra find themselves enjoying their shoe swapping club and are joined by twenty-something Joss, who joins the group not out of a love for shoes but in order to get away from her live-in nanny position. As the four women bond over shoes, their loves lives and food they find their lives changing for the better. This is a really good book. It's also being made into a motion picture starring Halle Berry.
