Ainsley Douglas, in the employ of Queen Victoria, is trying to get some of the Queen's indiscrete letters back and winds up in Lord Cameron Mackenzie's bedchamber looking for them. When Cameron and a paramour wind up in the room, Ainsley is trapped. Thus begins the story.
One of the strengths of this series of stories is that they build on each other (thus, should be read in order) and they involve all of the MacKenzies. The author has clearly outlined each character and they live and breathe on these pages.
