A good start to what appears to be an interesting trilogy. Dar is taken by the King's men and forced to help support the army. She doesn't get along with the men and seeks some protection from the Orcs - which earns her resentment from the humans. This is just the first book in the series and while it makes sense in itself, it is merely the first third of a larger tale.
