The Best of Louisa May Alcott: A Charming Illustrated Collection of Little Women, Little Men, and 24 Short Stories
Review Date: 1/29/2014

I am thoroughly enjoying reading this book ! The characters are gradually coming to life for me as I read. I think each character can teach children as well as adults many things to elevate out relationships with others. Kindness is never out of date and of course along with that trait in abundance you find that the characters are imperfect and make mistakes as we all do. Still, love and family are highlighted in Little Women and I am looking forward to Ms. Alcotts other written works!

The writing is superb. It drew me in and kept me reading. Very revealing of another side of the world and the raw human emotions and how they were dealt with in by the characters in such a different way than what we her in the US are familiar with. On the other hand I haven't finished it because I find it sad and had to put it away for another time to finish. What I have read so far sticks in my mind in a very emotional way. Read it for yourself and see if it moves your emotions.
