Very meh.

This wasn't bad, except for it's another example of ridiculous ideals of romance. I'm getting sick of the whole The-woman-mistreats-the-guy-completely-but-it's-all-ok-because-they-love-each-other-nonsense.
However, the world is very well imagined, and most of the story is pretty good.

Not a bad read, just a little flat. It could've been much better.

A lacklustre start to what turns out to be an excellent series. This is worth reading b/c the books hit their stride from #2 onward.

An interesting start to what looks like an interesting experiment.

Enjoyable, some of the concepts are a bit weak, but it's a good read - the writing is sound, the storytelling enjoyable.

A fun, entertaining read. Geared towards women, so keep that in mind while reading.

An intriguing continuation of the story, this one fleshes out the supporting cast a lot more. The story isn't "perfect", but it is entertaining. The witty banter moves from the forced to natural.

Decent book fun premise.

Weak. Dexter is not as witty as others think.

An amazing story.

Not bad, just not very good. Sure, it's hackneyed and cliche, but that's not the bad part. The bad part is the stupidity of the main character and the idea that the reader is stupid enough to go along with it.

The characters are enjoyable, at times even compelling. However, there's some serious flaws to this story. If you have read the first two, then you really should read the third - after that, well... it's up to you.

Mildly entertaining

One of the best series ever, this volume is no exception to the rest.

Andrew Vachss is one of my fave authors hes so brutal and honest in his writing, and his characters are almost always criminals with a sense of honour. This is a collection of short stories, plus a novella, some about Cross and his crew (basically a gang of bizarre characters who merc out different jobs), some about others, and some about a semi-scifi setting called The Underground. Quite good stuff, I enjoyed most of the stories. He has a brutal sense of humour and it shows in his writing.

Phenomenally funny, yet a great serious story at the same time, this is a wild ride in the absurd. If you like Gaiman, Pratchett, Adams or the like, you'll adore Fforde.

Cute story, suffers a little for being a YA book, but still entertaining.
