A great read! This book takes you places you hopefully will never have to experience! Will Alexander (attorney) has extreme challenges in defending 4 members of a motor cycle gang, who he believes are innocent of the crime for which they are being tried.

Four thousand years ago, in what is now known as the American South, a boy is thrust into manhood long before he is ready. Youn Salamander is only 15 winters old and would much rather catch crickets & watch blue herons fish than dabble in the politics of his clan. After his heroic brother is killed, Salamander becomes the leader of America's first city. He inherits his brother's two wives who despise him, and is forced to marry his mortal enemy's daughter to forge an alliance for the trade goods his people desperately need. The book is based on facts retrieved from the ancient earth mounds in Louisianna and many other archeological & anthropological sources.

Sara Norton had always fallen in love badly. This time she was determined that her romance was going to work out. Of course, she didn't know much about Dave Fillery but that didn't seem to matter when she got the chance to combine a photography assignment and a vacation with Dave in Afghanistan. They adventure to Kabul, Herat, Mashad in Persia... but then get in trouble with the Iranian Police. A primitive opium-growing Afghan tribe led by a wily old khan who punishes informers by having their tongues cut out; a group of unscrupulous international businessmen; a British diplomat with a lusty wife; a darkly handsome police officer; weave an intrigue with a kidnapping, gun battles, sandstorm & warriors on horseback in the exotic background of Afghanistan & Persia. The author spent 3 years in Iran, so authentically portrays the geography & Moslem mind.
