Odd story. Very different read. If you read The Lovely Bones and liked it, you might like this book as well.

Very compelling read. Unusual and unexpected, though sad. I enjoyed it, but I like books that are different.

I liked it, but it wasn't really what I thought it was going to be like or what I was looking for. I did not agree with the comments on the back of the book. I do feel the woman was not getting the love, respect or recognition she should have been getting from her family, but will keep my conclusion to myself so as not to spoil my ideas for future readers. I will say it is about getting older and wondering "what if" which I can identify with.

Finally a book, I really really liked! I would highly recommend it to anyone. Might be a comfort to someone who has lost a loved one. I can see why it won a Pulitzer and would like to read more books by this author.

When I first started reading this book, I didn't think I was going to like it or that I would finish it and at times didn't really understand what was going on. But I stuck with it and eventually things became clear and I found it quite intriguing with many twists to the story and a surprise ending.

Philip Marlowe is a witty and likable character and while reading, I felt like I was watching an old black & white movie that he was narrating.

A good, fast, read.

This is the story of a young girl whose mother is older as she had her later in life and she often worries about losing her.

Although I liked the story and the premise of the book and it was well written and kept my interest, I did not like what I felt was a mockery of faith in Jesus.

Living according to biblical principles is a joyous life and nothing like it was portrayed by either Lisa, Polly, or the preachers. Jesus gave his life on the cross to save us from our sins and it is not a joke.

The book did come to a satisfying conclusion.

This is #3 of the Thursday Murder Club series and it was as good as the 1st two. It's another "can't put it down read." It is funny as well as intriguing. Joyce is a hoot, and I wish I was still as sharp as Elizabeth is at her age. I look forward to #4.

I found this to be an enjoyable read, however, without giving away the main story of the book, I believe in personal responsibility and not blaming others or placing guilt mainly on others when tragedy happens. I feel the husband may have had reason to feel somewhat guilty, but the object of his attractions did not return his attentions in the way he intended and no one told Diane to be such a go-getter and do what she did.

This book made me both laugh and cry. If you have a cat or just love cats, you'll enjoy this book. You might even learn a thing or two.

A light, fun read; not as good as the first one, but I liked it and read it quickly. Short, fast, easy chapters. Good for adults or teenagers or to read together. Will be looking forward to reading Revenge of the Spellmans. (They are one strange family!)

Eddie Flynn was a con man who became a lawyer, but when a case went terribly wrong, he becomes an alcoholic and loses everything. Now his partner has taken on a client from the Russian mob who has kidnapped Eddie's daughter and will kill them both if Eddie cannot keep him out of prison.

If you like constant suspense, court drama, and plot twists, this debut novel by Steve Cavanagh is for you. It will keep you guessing right up until the end.
