I only gave this book 3 stars because I felt it did not hold my attention. I was finally able to finish it. I felt some of the characters were not really necessary for the plot line and others stories needed to be expanded to make the novel more interesting.

I am not sure why this book is considered a classic. I felt I was reading a book with someone speaking in a monotone, who just kept repeating the same thing over and over. I wanted to feel something for the characters, but I could not. Just a note to anyone who requests this copy I received mine from another member and it did arrive with some stains on the top pages, but it is in good shape.
