A nice historical story. I am enjoying these types of historical novels more & more as they weave actual events with characters that one can feel for within the context of the story. It helps to connect with a story line a bit easier and puts things in a different perspective than what a dry history book can teach.

Traveling with Pomegranates: A Mother and Daughter Journey to the Sacred Places of Greece, Turkey, and France
Review Date: 1/5/2020

Interesting alternating points of view on mother/ daughter trips... not sure if I could not relate to all the feelings since it's not something that I could see happening with my own mother...but definitely can relate to that feeling of getting older & the feelings that happen in a woman's 50's. overall good solid read.

A good read overall. Based on other reviews I thought it would be a bit more complex, but still enjoyed it. Quirky characters are always interesting along with some unexpected moments in the story. Definitely recommend!

Another great story from one of my favorite authors...the mother/daughter dynamic is always at the core of Amy Tan's storytelling...so much so that it feels very much our own story no matter what our heritage or life circumstances may be. The "time travel style" (as I like to call it) of the story keeps one interested and helps to piece it together...although I couldn't help but wonder about the son. Thoroughly enjoyed it, highly recommend.
