Interesting story that is well written. Feels like a young adult/tween novel at times. Hard to remember which male character is which because of how they are introduced. Wouldn't have like more character development there. Didn't now it was a three parter when I picked it up so a little peeved that all the loose ends weren't tied up at the end but looking forward to seeing how it ends.

This is an enjoyable book but the author takes the easy way out way too often. Their are conflicts that are resolved by the death of a character. Abuse is allowed to go on for years without interference. It's like a lifetime movie but still pretty likeable characters and a fast read.

I love the dog in this book. The unnecessary suffering was dragged out quit a bit which made the book less enjoyable in the middle but the beginning and the ending still make it worth the read.

These are quick beach reads as advertised but fans of these authors may find the condensed stories lacking. When you have to wrap up a story in 125 pages that you normally would stretch to 300 pages you lose something. The plot and character development and the lack of steamy scenes were definitely a let down for me.

What a fun quick read. I love fat girl gets in shape, loses her emotional baggage and gets the guy novels. And they didn't skimp on the sex scenes. Smart girls chick novel. Love it.

A fun quick read. The language is a little confusing at times but it's worth the effort. An interesting take on life in the future, ethics, the occult and poverty. Some surprises in the middle but the ending is fairly predictable.

Much like the book about dog behavior by the same author, Dr. Dodman relies too much on medication to intervene and provides little "new information" to the experienced pet owner.

I do like the blatant lessons for kids in this book: It's okay to be different. Everyone gets their heat broken. Sometimes parents seem mean but they're just trying to protect you, etc. What I didn't like was how much the story dragged on and the Princess Leia/Luke Skywalker family revelation. Doesn't stack up against the other YA fantasy novels out there so far but I'm in for the second book just in case it gets better.

The book started great. Loved all the suspense and the unique voice of the main character initially. By the middle of the book, the reader has already figured out the answers to all of the mysteries and what the main character is going to do next. Not a great ending. Tedious getting through pages of extranneous information that is unrelated to the story. I understand that the narrator is autistic but this voice makes it very difficult to care about the story at times.

A fun quick read for dog lovers and fans of chick lit. It's pretty predictable but isn't that what you're looking for in this type of book? How many dog lovers have seen the bad dog parents at the park and wanted to take their dogs away from them? My only problem is the minimal coverage that the romance gets in the end. If I'm going to wait 200 pages for the two to finally live happily ever after it would be great to have a sex scene between the two of them and a 5 years later chapter.

There are a lot of good tips in this book but all of the case studies are extreme cases. It is hard to get past the incompetent owners and the horrible things that occur in their dogs' lives. Every behavioral problem does not require drugs yet there is not a single chapter where he does not advocate using them.

What a disappointment. The author follows one path for the majority of the book and then abandons it in the end. Unnecessary images of dogs suffering. No real suspense. A total let down.

There are deep moments in this book but it often takes the author several pages of self pity and whining to get to those a-ha moments. Worth reading but not the life changing book it is held up to be. The movie does a good job of skipping through the whining and focusing on the life changing parts.

It's a very touching topic and there are a lot of great books recommended here but the book itself is not all that engaging. Lots of references to how rich and privileged the author and his family are and all of their connections makes it very difficult to connect with the characters. A very slow read. Doesn't live up to the reviews but you will get a nice list of other books that you want to read in the future from this book.

This book starts a little slower than the first book but turns out to be just as good in the end. It's nice to see the darker side of the gift explored more but wished for more detail as Janie and Cabel moved into the sexual phase of their relationship. The encounters with the predators were given so much detail, it would have been nice to balance this with some loving intimacy as well.

This book has so much promise but does not impress in the end. There is no resolution to most of the storylines (death is not a resolution). Ariah, the main character, goes from being someone you admire to someone you can't stand. The author seems to enjoy spending hundreds of pages babbling on without getting to the point. I forced myself to finish, hoping it would be worth it in the end. Unfortunately, it was not.
