This is my favorite kind of cookbook. The recipes are easy to understand and use basic ingredients, meaning you won't start with a can of cream of mushroom soup, or a boxed cake mix. I have made many of the recipes in this book and have found several favorites among them. It's a keeper!

I searched for more books by this author and sadly found only this one. Harriet does a great job baking with soy flour to make great tasting low carb desserts, which she is most proud of. Her savory dishes are delightful too! This is an older book, when there weren't any specialty products for low carb cooks, save soy flour. I find that in particular handy, as you can find all of the ingredients she uses. I have tried many recipes from this book, and I have liked them all. I highly recommend this book!

This book really spoke to me about training my children and character development as part of running a household.
