Discovering God's World Science Reader Grade 1 is a colorful book with a variety of subjects to introduce children to science and to get them excited about science. The text is simple enough on its own with a few simple projects using items that you probably would have around the house. If you wish, you may add other books to supplement as you are going through the lessons. For example, when studying insects, you might enjoy reading a separate easy book about ladybugs. We are enjoying this book.

We have used several books in this series and enjoy having pieces more or less on the same level in one book. The book even gives a suggested level to go through the pieces.

Excellent curriculum for true understanding of math. I wish I had known about this for my own children, but at that time the U.S edition was just being introduced. I have used this for 2 1/2 years as a nanny/homeschool helper and was impressed with how it helps the kids to truly understand what they are doing rather than just doing a random math fact. The more I study this, the more I realize that this is an incredible tool for kids to get an excellent foundation. I'm looking forward to using this more this coming fall as I teach in a Classical school.

What Would MacGyver Do?: True Stories of Improvised Genius in Everyday Life
Review Date: 12/24/2010

I thought my 11 year old son would enjoy this book. Fortunately, we previewed it first. The book contains foul language and sexual content. In addition, this book, for the most part, does not portray what MacGyver would do. Some of the stories give pretty bad advice rather than being "improvised genius."
