The Pixie Tricks books were some of the first chapter books that my son read. My son read a some of the Pixie Tricks books from the library and then asked me to buy him the whole series. If your child likes magic and fantasy but is too young to read Harry Potter, your child will probably like this series. This series is for 6-9 year olds according to the Barnes and Noble web site.

Daniel in the Lions' Den: Daniel 1-2,4-6 (Little Golden Book)
Review Date: 11/29/2006

Quote from the book, "Nebuchadnezza ordered an officer to bring a number of Israelite boys back to Babylon. Among those taken was a boy named Daniel. Each day, as the king had commanded, the boys were served the choicest food and wine. But Daniel asked permission to eat only vegetables and drink only water. He did not want to eat the king's food because doing so was against God's law. God caused the king's officer to look kindly on Daniel."
