Cute story introducing the letters of the alphabet with lots of picture incorporatiing the letter into them. Like the lion has the letter L as his head and torso. Each featured letter is highlighted in the text on its page as many times as it appears.

Driven To Distraction : Recognizing and Coping with Attention Deficit Disorder from Childhood Through Adulthood
Review Date: 2/19/2007
Helpful Score: 3

The authors employ a broad, general definition of ADD ("high-energy, action-oriented, bottom-line, gotta-run-type people") and continually emphasize the special, positive qualities of people with ADD. They describe how ADD affects adults--many Americans mistakenly think of it as a childhood curse--and explain how the American temperament helps create ADD-like symptoms. Best of all are the stories and case studies of myriad folks who have dealt successfully with their diagnosis. A state-by-state list of support groups are included in this excellent approach to an intriguing subject.

Father Gander Nursery Rhymes: The Equal Rhymes Amendment
Review Date: 3/7/2007

Interesting nursery rhymes that give equal place to male and female. Things like "Jill be nimble, jump it too, If Jack can do it, so can you!"

The controversy over the relationship between Thomas Jefferson and his African American slave Sally Hemings has raged for generations. Shannon Lanier, a 20-year-old descendant of Jefferson and Hemings, was inspired to delve deeper into the debate after attending the Monticello Association's yearly meeting in 1999. On the heels of the discovery through DNA evidence of a link between Jefferson and Hemings, excitement was running high at Jefferson's famous homestead. Lanier, who is black, encountered Jeffersons who embraced him, and those who wouldn't even shake his hand. He met Hemingses who looked as white as Jeffersons, Jeffersons who refused to acknowledge the scientific evidence, and Hemingses who were angry at having to prove their lineage.

We love all the Jenny Books. I have 7 boys and two girls and the boys like these books as much as the girls. Jenny and her friends visit exotic ports all over the world. A great geography and culture lesson in a fun and engaging story! Perfect for a read aloud to kids aged 5-up. My third grader read this on his own!

We all loved this audio book-it is way better than reading it yourself. The voice of Hank, and his hysterically funny comments and songs make this better entertainment than a movie. My 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 year olds all loved it and I laughed out loud just as another reviewer said!

This is a great book as a text or to just read to your kids-it is mini biographies of famous Americans and is extremely interesting-I have homeschooled 6 of my nine kids and all have used this book for third grade history-I will use it with the last 3 when they "come of age" This is an extra copy I have. All the chapter questions are filled in with pen, pencil or marker, but you could orally ask the questions or have the student answer on separate paper (or wite out)

Cute little story encouraging kids to do their "little" chores instead of having "big ideas" that they can't do at their age. Fun read for all!

This might have been your Mother Goose book when you were young ... or maybe even your great-grandmother's! The Real Mother Goose has been teaching children traditional nursery rhymes since 1916, when the first edition of the book was published; since then, five million copies have been sold in the United States. The cover's familiar black-and-white checkerboard border is still here, as are Blanche Fisher Wright's delicate, old-fashioned illustrations. You'll find more than 200 Mother Goose rhymes, supplemented by an alphabetical list of first lines to help you locate your favorites.

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind CD : Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth
Review Date: 10/26/2010

I borrowed this from the library and was very impressed with the content and presentation. I bought the book so I could do the exercises, but I also wnated my own audio copy to listen to while in the car daily.

This recording reminds you over and over how rich people think differently than poor people and gives you small doable action steps to start changing your thinking-which will change your success rate in business.

I have been in this process of changing my thinking for a couple of years now and it is slow going-but it is happening! This and Rich Dad Poor Dad are the best I've read so far on creating wealth.
