This is the BEST pop-up book ever!!!
The artistry is amazing, and the story was not been destroyed in the simplification of it for this adaptation. You will still get the chills you got when reading the actual book ... only this time with things popping off the page :)
This is definitely a must for all those who love Stephen King, but even more so for those of you who fear King as being a horror writer. Pick this up and you will see just how brilliant King is.

I loved "Becoming Abigail" by Chris Abani, so I went out and got "Graceland" only to be disappointed. While the poetic prose that made Abigail so good are still sprinkled in, the story is just "blah". You never get make a connection with the main character, Elvis. The attempts made at going back and forth between his youth and adulthood are extremely difficult to follow, and the story just lacks a solid purpose with which to hold the reader's interest.
I so wanted this book to be awesome, but I found myself bored with it. Usually when I have free time, reading is my go to activity, but while this was the book I was reading, I avoided it like a teenager does homework.

A disturbing story by Stephen King and his son, Joe Hill loses a lot in the narration by Stephen Lang. Not sure if it was just me, but I never hear the characters in his voice. I had to really focus to know which character was which while listening to his reading.
The story itself is good (not King's best work, but good), so i would recommend finding this in print and reading it yourself instead of listening to Lang's less than emphatic reading.

This book sat on my bookshelf for at least a year before I finally gave it a read .... man I am hitting myself for wasting all that time. Dean effortless transports the reader into his adventures and inspires you to push yourself to go farther in your own running as well. But, the kicker is, yes, this is about running, however, his message transcends to everything we do in life. So even if running is not your thing, this is one of the most inspiring books, just replace running with whatever it is you do. If this book doesn't motivate you to push yourself above and beyond your comfort zone, nothing will...
