Moving and poetic, Cider with Rosie is part memoir, part chronicle, part song to life itself. Laurie Lee recalls his growing up years in a remote Cotswold village in England just after the first World War. Never maudlin, never sugar-coating the more brutal aspects of the time, he nevertheless evokes a longing for the days when a village became an entity unto itself, composed of its inhabitants but also having rules and rhythms of its own.

Isaac Asimov wrote a non-scifi murder mystery?!? Yup, and it's a really fun read. Murder, comedy, interesting characters, a puzzle you can use your brain on and the author gives himself a cameo role in his own book. Thoroughly enjoyable.

A funny, lighthearted, sassy romantic romp. I found myself laughing out loud, squirming in my seat and occasionally smacking my forehead at the choices Elle makes. Adorable, thoroughly enjoyable chick lit.

This book is my favorite, favorite, favorite idea book for hands-on beginning math and reading activities. Though designed for use in classrooms, I've found it great for making activities for my homeschooled children, including my son with multiple special needs. The workjobs allow the child to work independently with concrete, self-correcting materials. At home or in the classroom you can customize the ideas with manipulatives that will appeal to the children who will use the workjobs.
