A memoir about the struggle to lose weight. Not a lot of tips, but a look into the mind of failure and wind.

This is a great start to a series about a pet-sitter. You get a chance to meet a bunch of fun characters in the Keys, Florida. Dixie has had many things happen in her life, but things are finally coming together for her. It's a fun read!

It was fast read and the cast was charming, there were parts that were too cut and dry but it was a cute holiday mystery with a little Dickens.

This was one of those feel good feel bad books that keeps you wanting to find out more! It was very good at the beginning and then I felt it drag a bit, but it picked up and I really liked it. It makes you realize how important friends are to your daily life and to get out and smell the roses more if you aren't already doing so. I'd say don't pick this book for a quick read because it will stay with you for awhile.

Another of Janet Evanovich early romance novels. She has a great flow to her writing that won't let you put down the book. She made the main character Berry a pizza making maniac, who finds love in the oddest place. You can see the desperation on Jake's face as he tries to win her love. Janet's way of bringing the characters alive are even more present in the old ladies who are 'helping' Berry. Another great read!

This is the third and final book in the SAHM series. It is made up of emails and instant messages and text messages. I wasn't sure it would flow, but it made for a quick read. A bunch of stay at home moms and one dad are on an email loop and like many of us in cyberland become great friends. They want to meet and make plans to do so, but had problems and one of the new moms came to the rescue.
It shows how funny some of our 'problems' really are. It is a Steeple Hill Cafe book meaning it is a Christian book and there is a lot of talk of faith throughout.

This is a new first series in the cozy genre. However, it has a little more meat than a typical cozy. It is a gardening series and while there is some gardening tips, I'd like to see more tips in future books. There is a few twists in this book that make it a book hard to put down. Paula Holliday, a former filmaker turned landscaper finds a body in an old neglected garden and turns part time sleuth. The book has a great cast of characters, including a cute but slighty pudgy cop and a hot best friend as well as numerous other memorable characters.

Loved the newbie trying new outdoor pursuits.. with a murder thrown in. The bonus adventure material was great!

This is another throwback from a decade ago, but it is still a funny light hearted romantic story. All about a divorced woman w/ 2 kids trying to make it as a carpenter and a very handsome carpenter who isn't sure why he hired her, but knows he wants to be with her. In classic Evanovich style there is the totally absurd gun toting aunt, dog, flasher, Harley and lots of unsure love.
It only took me a couple hours to read, so grab this book, sit down on the blanket at the beach or the park and escape the real world for awhile with a book that has more laughs than sighs!

An interesting glimpse into an era that I wish I was born into. The circus was a very different animal and this book shows the behind the scenes. A pretty good read for a summer day.
