I had resisted reading this book, not entirely sure why. I knew it was about young adults and had some killing in it. That didn't sit well with me, but everyone I talked to said it was really good, so finally tried it. It was engaging, and the killing/dying of the characters in the book was done in a way that wasn't meaningless. Good story, and of course it is set in the future. Can't wait to read the next in the series!

Wasn't expecting to like this, as I'm NOT a teenage girl, and not into vampires! BUT, all my friends kept telling me how they loved reading this series. SO, although I'm 58, and like reading totally different books, I do like a good story. Decided to give it a try and not cannot put these books down. I think they appeal to anyone who enjoys reading, and I found myself looking forward to a few quiet moments so I could read!!!
In the middle of book #2 now, (4 book series) and have seen the first movie. Love the story, the movie, the way Stephenie Meyer writes in the first person, and have enjoyed reading about the Northwest. Have visited many of these places she writes about so that makes it more interesting also.
Try this, you'll like it!
