I found this a bit more spotty than some of Maguire's books, especially during the middle. But the end of the book was amazing; I never saw it coming. This was the audio version which was very well performed.

Very good story and written with Grisham's usual skill. Highly recommend.

This helped me through many days of a bad commute. Well written, beautifully read. The audio CD is organized into many small chapters so it is very easy to back it up a little bit if you need to or want something repeated (not true of all audiobooks, in my experience, which force you to listen to a much longer "chunk").
Should appeal to those interested in Ireland of the 30s/40s, those interested in public education (especially NYC mid-20th century),those interested or involved with teaching (and dealing with students, parents, administrators.
Some really memorable moments, especially those dealing with some of his more creative teaching techniques. I own this and might post it someday, but not until I've listened to it another time or two.
