I love to read Barbara Kingsolver and I love the subject she writes on but the book seems contrived.

Collects short pieces that chronicle Julie Biuso's journey from her first pesto to Cordon Bleu graduate to New Zealand food personality. Can be eaten in small bites or as a large meal. I hope she writes another book that starts where this one left off.

Eating for Beginners: An Education in the Pleasures of Food from Chefs, Farmers, and One Picky Kid
Review Date: 6/27/2011

Ms. Rehak blends her own food life and the larger issue of food choices for the ethical consumer in an enchantingly articulate memoir. Engaging and intimate.

Would be a 5 out of 5 but the section dealing with meat is a bit hasty. Maybe the author had trouble working through that issue on a personal level.
