Fertilizers, Pills, And Magnetic Strips: The Fate Of Public Education In America (PB)

This book had a magnifying glass on issues that are affecting the politics and education surrounding America's children. It focuses on urban living, birth control, and debt as issues that direct our American lives. Worth reading.

Great book for youth about the Civil War. The characters are well developed and the descriptions of early steamship explosions, field hospitals, and New Orleans black women are all tastefully and interestingly dealt with.

This was a fabulous book. The plot is original, the characters are real, and the writing "sucks" you in quickly. I found myself considering the story and its elements long after I'd put it down. Great Sci-Fi and a great love story. It's been a long time since I read a 500 page book in less than two weeks. It's a book I'll read more than once.
However, some "romance" scenes and extra use of the F-word will keep me from handing this one to my sixteen year-old.
