A very good read, easy to follow & very few "dead spots". Perhaps a little too much to do with respect to Sloan's addiction but not enough to lose anyone.

Well written & I must say, my interest was held right to the end.

I'm glad I stayed with this book as early on, I found the lead character very immature. I did anticipate a strong personality & in fact did see some character growth in that area as the story progressed. Kudos to Brad Meltzer for his excellent insight with respect to the inner workings of the White House & particularly the Secret Service.

This being a sequel to The Gold Coast, I was skeptical that DeMille could maintain his fast pace for another 700+ pages; well, he sure did & then some. DeMille is a master storyteller & be forewarned, once you start, both books will keep you up late at night.

An entertaining read, the maneuvering of the 2 takeover camps was rich with drama & insight. However, the courtroom drama didn't live up to my expectation.

Without dialog for several pages, my mind starts to wander; this author had many such pages & kept me focused. Very well written with a great storyline is a solid recipe for a great read.
