More about the Murry family. You first met them in A Wrinkle In Time. The main character in this book is Meg's daughter Polly. She visits her grandparents and steps into another time.

Compared to The Promise & The Passion, I found The Alchemist to be slow and somewhat watered down Anne Rice-ish. The characters were too one-dimensional to hold my interest.

Creepy and sinister. You can tell the author has read Lovecraft. Far more subtle than Stephen King.
