X doesn't say what it is for, but I say it is for eXcellent!

I've read them all and as usual was not disappointed. Kinsey continues to grow into an ever more interesting character and her quirks continue to grow on me.

The story line is Sue Grafton's usual, well crafted tale. I almost hate saying that, makes it sound less than it is and I don't want to do that. This book kept me guessing and even when I figured out a few things, I didn't get them all. Henry is his usual self and Rosie is still dishing up her wild

What I enjoy the most about Sue Grafton is that she wraps up her books carefully. They are not rushed to an ending and Kinsey signs off in a professional manner. Pick this one up as soon as you can and savor it. Only Y and Z left. I might need to start over with A and get to know Kinsey all over again.

Liked it a lot. Three different sub-plots going on here, and they keep Kinsey occupied. None of them pay her so it's good she has that extra money. It's interesting that Pete Wolinskey gets rehabilitated in a sense. And there was not as big a sense of danger this time, although of course there's the obligatory scene where Kinsey almost dies. There's only one book to go in the series - I know it's been out for years now but I have not read the teaser for it so I don't know, but I hope Grafton wraps up that bit. Hard to think of that subplot just sitting out there and knowing it will never be resolved.
BTW (and this is not a spoiler, anyone who can read ought to know what's going on as soon as it pops up) the neighbors couldn't have done what they did without shutting off Henry's water. You'd think he would have noticed.
