This book contains two stories by Nora. They were first published in 1985 and 1986. The first one, "Partners" was okay. It was kind of a "whodunit" story with some romance on the side. I was pretty surprised to learn the culprit at the end. Several times snakes were referred to in the story. If these leave you rather squeamish, this story might not be your favorite!!
I enjoyed the second story "The Art of Deception" much better. It was a story about a male artist who comes to stay for awhile in the castle owned by a well=known eccentric artist. He's quickly fascinated by his host's daughter. But, since things aren't always as they seem, he has a hidden motive, too. He's been paid to find out about some fraudulent paintings that have shown up on the market. The daughter, Kirby, is a breath of fresh air; her father is rather funny; and the romance between Kirby and Adam, the houseguest, is steamy. It was a good read.

I have enjoyed many of Nora's books, and this one did not let me down...:)
I enjoyed this book a lot. Nora Roberts is a one of my favorite authors.

Both these stories were a bit more romantic and a bit less eventful than I'd prefer. However they both had an unexpected twist at the end which surprised me. Definitely worth the read if you're a Nora Roberts fan.
