Stuart Woods never fails to keep the reader interested. He develops his characters fully, adds in plenty of action, some good surprises and twists, and doesn't leave you hanging in the bushes at the end of the story. I enjoy his detailed descriptions of the story surroundings, including the different countries and nationalaties we visit. There are a few touches of violence, but it doesn't get too gory and it fits into the storyline just right. Also include a brief touch of sex, and you've got an excellent, sizzling book. Highly recommend.

Wendell ("Cat") Catledge, a self-made electronics millionaire, is yachting off the South American coast with his family when a bloody act of piracy snatches away his "heart-stoppingly beautiful" teenage daughter Jinx and wife Katie. They are presumed dead, but weeks later Cat gets a brief phone call and recognizes Jinx's voice. His quest for his daughter, who is now a zombie enslaved by "the Anaconda," a Colombian drug baron, involves Cat with assorted CIA and narc types and with Meg Greville, a freelance TV journalist who may be KGB.

This was a very good, quick moving adventure story about the Colombian cocaine cartel and about a wealthy industrialist trying to find his daughter whom the drug lord had enslaved. The story involves this man's attempts to bring his daughter home and get revenge on those who have murdered his wife. The story never lost my interest and having read all of the other reviews of this book I think everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. In fact, I would read this author again. Try it, you'll like it. A bit too predictable for me!!!

Intense -- more of a thriller than most Stuart Woods books. While the main character (Cat) was not your typical action hero, he made up for it with plenty of motivation, resourcefulness, and a lot of improvising when things did not go as planned. A well-researched book, as I learned when I read the Acknowledgments (which I usually ignore).

My first Stuart Woods book, but not my last. Good story & fast pace. A man sets out with his wife and daughter to sail through the Panama Canal and to the South Pacific when they are hit by pirates.

Even though this is an older Stuart Woods book, it was a good read. As a matter of fact I enjoyed it more than some of his newer work. Definitely recommend to others.

Modren Pirates, they sent his yacht and his family to the bottom of the Caribbean. They let him live knowing he could never find the killers in the drug boomtowns and pirate ports of Columbia. He launched a one man war against a ruthless outlaw.
"It is a terrific Top-Notch thriller" NY times review.

While on a two year excursion on the family yacht, Cat and his family pull into a South American port for engine repair, English speaking Denny helps them get the part they need and request help to get him back home. In the quiet of the early morning a boat approaches and Cat is shot and left for dead and upon awakening finds his wife and daughter murdered. After his recovery late one night he receives a phone call with only one word spoken, "Daddy", Stuart Woods always gives a good story and this one is no exception.

They should have killed Catledge. But they were too cruel.
They let him live while they raped his wife and daughter.
Le him live while they sent his yacht and his family to the bottom of the Caribbean.
Let him live knowing he could never find the killers in the drug boomtowns and pirate ports of Colombia.
Then, late one night back in the States the phone rang. And one word gave Catledge something to live for.
One word crackling through the night before the connection was lost.
One word that launched a one-man war against a ruthless outlaw.
