this is a fast paced, gripping version of the Bethlehem story. I read it every Christmas, it makes me cry every time. Caroline Cooney always delivers a great story, she has a wonderful talent for the type of story that keeps you on the edge. Great read for anyone past the teen years, too, she can really draw the reader in with interest!

AMAZING BOOK. I sob EVERY time I read it. Of course I work in foster care and this story is so true of SO MANY children. Ironically, I have a homeless child this Christmas who has very little chance of finding a family. SO SAD!!
