If you like revenge, this is for you. Enjoyable, but not the best book I've ever read.

I loved the idea of this plot, but the writing was very disappointing. There are several mistakes in this book, such as the description of Kathryn's attackers as Doctor's: "They're well-thought of with their patients...", but then later they become a Dentist, an Insurance Salesman and an Accountant. The dialog seemed oddly pretentious in some spots, and unrealistic in others.

Overall, a very quick read, a good plot, but I won't be reading any more in this series.

I have always been a fan of Fern Michaels, but for some reason this series does not appeal to me AT ALL. I've only read this one book in the series, but I have them all, just can't force myself to continue. Something about a bunch of women taking the law into their own hands just doesn't do much for me. Not the renegade type I guess.

This was a decent book. I enjoyed reading it. It did take a little while to get into the book but after about the third or so chapter it was hard to put down.

A delightful book that I could not put down. By the time I was finished with this one, I was running to the bookstore to find the next one. The characters are well thought out and the story capitivating. Once you start, you will want to see the series through.

Good book. First in a series. You can read this in one evening or an afternoon. Fantasy/revenge. Interesting characters. I would not want to be the enemy of any of these ladies.

1st Book in The Sisterhood series - drawn together by tragedy forming a bond to help them rights the wrongs that were done to them

This is the first book in Fern Michaels fast paced series "Revenge of the Sisterhood". Women, who have been let down by the justice system, join forces take it upon themselves to be avenged. THe characters are real and likeable. With smarts, money, state of the art electonics, and superb acting they make jsutice happen. Kathryn is the first to be avenged. In the meantime they must balance their careers and loves. Great read.

Seven women who had been wronged band together to get revenge on those who hurt them. This book is part of a series but does not have to be read in any order.

Life isn't fair. Most women know it. But what can you do about it? Plenty...if you're part of the Sisterhood. On the surface, these seven women are as different as can be--but each has had her share of bad luck, from cheating husbands to sexist colleagues to a legal system that ofter doesn't do it's job. Now, drawn together by tragedy, they're forging a bond that will help them right the wrongs committed against them and discover an inner strength they didn't know they had. Growing bolder with each act of justice, the Sisterhood is learning that when bad things happen, you can roll over and play dead...or you can get up fighting....

A wonderful book that you will not be able to put down. I loved this book because even though the characters can't get justice from the legal system, they are able make their own justice.

The Sisterhood series by Fern Michaels is by far my favorite series. Even though I had already read this story once, it was a very exciting day when I was able to add it to my bookshelf here at home. Now I have almost the entire series.

Revenge is sweet

I totally loved the premise, a very rich lady's daughter is killed (view spoiler). Said rich lady, Myra Rutledge decides to go vigilante and partners with her boyfriend, Charles Emery (ex MI6 operative) and her adopted daughter, Nikki (lawyer). Her big idea is to help women who got screwed by the legal system to get revenge on the perpetrators. How cool is that?

I loved the writing style, the characters and in this instance, the bad guys got exactly what they deserved. Bravo! Now I'm off to get my hands on a few more books in this series.

batgirl avatar reviewed Weekend Warriors (Sisterhood) on + 284 more book reviews
A friend kept urging me to read this book so I broke down and ordered it. I am very disappointed in the writing and in the mistakes. I THINK that the author is actually 2 women who co-write. If that is true, they obviously do not read what the other has written. One character named Yoko says she is Chinese, but Yoko is a Japanese name. The dialogue is at times pretentious, at other times shallow. Details pop up from nowhere and I check back to see if pages are missing. (They are not.)

Spoiler alert!

When doing revenge surgery on one abuser, the doctor says "Down and dirty? or the way we would do it in the hospital?" Everyone agrees on "down and dirty" but the doctor then proceeds to go into detail about tying off arteries, suturing this, stapling that. Do these women every proofread their own writing?

I thought this book would be a cute story of women getting revenge on boyfriends who cheated on them by kidnapping their dogs or something. Instead, it's a book about a group of women who get revenge on the men who gang-raped one of them by castrating them! It was awful. Beware!

A hilarious book! WARNING: Definitely not for the faint-hearted. The story revolves around a group of women and their plotted revenge against those who have wronged them (a/k/a MEN). I fell in love with the elderly couple who is financially backing their excursions and was in awe of the range of security issues and protection this couple could afford these ladies! I absolutely cannot wait until the next book in the series!!!

I love the Sisterhood series and this is the 1st! These girls know how to get their man but don't think they are just a bunch of women out to get men because they are not. They have unlimited funds and unlimited resources and are out to right the wrongs of our justice system regardless of sex (male or female). This first story does center around 3 men and they certainly get their just rewards! Definitely recommend to all.

At first I thought this book was a little slow but they were trying to establish the characters and then when they executed their plan the pace picked up and I couldn't put it down. This is the first book in the Sisterhood Series and what a way to start. In the beginning Myra Rutledge's only daughter is killed in a hit and run. The driver had diplomatic immunity so justice is not served. After a year of mourning an incident happens to awaked Myra from her grief. She decides to use her money to help other women bring their kind of justice to the men and women who have abused them. This book deals with Kathryn Lucas, a truck driver who was raped in front of her husband, he is disabled. Later he dies and she becomes bitter. Myra gathers her and 6 other women together and empowers them to get even. If you like a good suspenseful book you'll love this one.
