This was enjoyable with elements of Norse mythology and a faerie character. I did not realize it was part of a series so felt a little cheated that much is intentionally unresolved. If you're looking to settle in with a couple of books this might be a good choice. I also felt like the action before the book was alluded to where it could have been explained in more detail. Pleasant, but not one for the keeper shelf.

I enjoy all of Mayhue's novels and this one did not disappoint. I found the characters and the plot believable.
The fact this books ending sets up the next is normal for the series genre. Finding out how the next book encompasses the last one is half the fun. Meeting the main characters in supporting roles aids in familiarity'

I really really wanted to like this book. I've liked all the other Mayhue books. But something in this book bothered me. I think it was the heroine. She wasn't the strong female the other books had as heroines. And the hero was a little on the bland side. It was also very frustrating to find out in the end that the story was not done. The next book will take up where this one left off. That's not really the fault of the book, it was just kind of frustrating.
