This was my first introduction to this author and it was quite enjoyable. The first in a proposed series, Nick Heller is quite a likeable character and the storyline kept the action moving along nicely. Would look forward to reading the next in the series.

This was a great book by an author that not enough people know about. A few nice twists and turns and very action-packed. I couldn't pull myself away from it.

Good book. Main character ranks right up there with some of the best .... Jack Reacher, Mitch Rapp, Scot Harvath.

Nick Heller is tough, smart, and stubborn. And in his line of work, it's essential. Trained in the Special Forces, Nick is a high-powered intelligence investigator--exposing secrets that powerful people would rather keep hidden. He's a guy you don't want to mess with. He's also the man you call when you need a problem fixed.

Desperate, with nowhere else to run, Nick's nephew, Gabe makes that call one night. After being attacked in Georgetown, his mother, Lauren, lies in a coma, and his step-dad, Roger, Nick's brother, has vanished without a trace.

Nick and Roger have been on the outs since the arrest, trial, and conviction of their father, the notorious "fugitive financier," Victor Heller. Where Nick strayed from the path, Roger followed their father's footsteps into the corporate world. Now, as Nick searches for his brother, he's on a collision course with one of the most powerful corporations in the world--and they will stop at nothing to protect their secrets.

Like Nick Heller, want to keep up with him. Very 'on the edge of your seat' thriller.

For a gripping thriller that keeps you turning pages, VANISHED is a great book. This is the opening salvo in Joseph Finder's series starring Nick Heller (see below). Nick was in Special Ops but has morphed into a highly competent investigator for an upscale DC company.

While Heller is finding about a billion dollars of US currency aboard an airplane, his nephew Gabe calls in a panic. His mother Lauren and Nick's brother, Roger Heller were at a Georgetown restaurant. Lauren was attacked when Roger went back for his keys at the restaurant. When Lauren awakens, Roger is gone -- without a trace.

Nick goes on the hunt for his estranged brother. The two men come from money -- lots of it -- in their youth. However their father went to jail for SEC violations for 30 years. Roger has always admired his father while Nick rejects his father's dishonesty.

There are plenty of twists and turns to satisfy the most jaded thriller reader. Joseph Finder writes great fight scenes, tense dialogue and snappy comebacks. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. However, it was not without flaws. It is easy to ignore the errors because this is such a cracking great story.
