(spoiler alert)
I have to start by saying, i loved Jeffrey Tolliver. And i was very unhappy when he was killed off in the last book. But, i went into this book with an open mind. Slaughter has tied her 2 series together nicely, the merge promises to be a great series in itself. And i am ok with her decision to kill off a beloved character, it makes sense in the grand scheme of things, and she pulled the unanswered questions together for me. i look forward to how Will and Sara's paths will continue to cross, maybe they will find love with each other, who knows.......

As usual, Slaughter does not give up the killer till the very end. And this was a page turner that i finished in 2 days. Slaughter's imagination really shows the dark side of humanity and is never boring. I have read nothing like it, i just wish Slaughter could write faster, i can't wait for the next book. Maybe we will see Lena again?

After reading "Beyond Reach" I vowed to never read another Grant County book again. But when I heard that Will Trent was going to be in this book along with Sara Linton, I was compelled to give it a try. I'm glad that I did. I thought Sara's grief was palpable and very well written. And there's just something about Will Trent that touches me. The crimes are vintage Slaughter and not for the feint of heart but the characters are what got me the most about this book. I think I can see where she's headed with the two series now. Although I'll never forgive her for what she did in "Beyond Reach" I'm definitely glad that I gave her another try. I think you will be too.

Karin Slaughter has redeemed herself and is back on my TO READ list..., August 28,

OK - I'll go ahead and admit I said it. Along with a million other fans, I said I would NEVER read another Slaughter novel (especially not the Grant County series) after what I still consider the horrible ending of Beyond Reach: A Novel of Suspense (Grant County) back in 2007. And I meant it. I wrote the author, bashed the book on amazon.com and even sent a nasty note to her publisher. Meanwhile, I cheated- but only because I once had loved her books so much, by reading about Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Det. Faith Mitchell in Triptych and Fractured. I grew to love those characters with all their foibles and flaws so imagine my surprise when I opened Undone to find them meeting the character of Sara Linton, now at Grady Memorial's ER in Atlanta! "Wow," I said to myself. "This should really be interesting."

And it was! I really enjoyed this book -- it was very fast paced from start to finish with a believable ending that was satisfying this time.

I won't rehash the plot but will summarize by saying that the serial killer in this story is obsessed with anorexic, independent, and bitchy single women. The women are kidnapped and held for days in basements or caves and tortured. The fact that they aren't very likeable does hinder the investigation a bit. Who is snatching these women and why?

I will say that in order to fully appreciate all the nuances and depth in this suspense thriller, you really should go back and read all the Grant County books in order and also the two titles featuring Will and Faith. Lucky you!

Previously an author whose books I immediately bought on release day, I had abandoned Karin Slaughter, but I'm putting her back on my "must read" list again now that she has redeemed herself and written this one. Highly recommended.

As usual Karen Slaughter continues to write great books. This one is a little violent and deals with sex crimes just in case that bothers you but all in all its a great read.

I have read all the Grant County and Will Trent books and I have been looking for to this one for a long time after the big surprise at the end of the last Grant County book.

When I first read she was combining the two series, I have to say I was surprised and not exactly excited with the decision. I didn't think the outcome would be lived up to either series on it's own, but I was actually surprised how it turned out and I found myself enjoying the book more than some of the others in the earlier Grant County series.

I thought Karin Slaughter did a great job of mixing the characters together in a believable fashion and I really felt connected to each one of them.

I do agree that Sara didn't get as many pages in the book as I would have liked her to have, but I don't think that made or broke the book. I keep thinking over and over how she could have gotten more pages and with what happened to her at the end of the last book, I really don't see a way she could have.

I feel Will and Faith brought enlightenment to Sara and hopefully that enlightenment will help her get back to her old life and make her a bigger part of the next book.

As for this book though, I thought Karin Slaughter did a good job of mixing the characters together, it's not always about who gets the biggest part in the book but the ones you found yourself loving and wanting to read more about and I found myself connected the most to Sara.

The mystery or crime in the book that needed to be solved was graphic, but not to graphic and had your heart aching for the victims. I don't want to put any spoilers here, but no matter how the victims acted, you still found yourself mourning for them.

As always the bad guy in the book was someone I didn't expect, yet right there in front of your eyes from the beginning.

I would definitely recommend this book if you have read any of the other books, I have to say I was very surprised by the ending once again like I was with the last book in the Grant County series.

I found myself almost unable to finish the book with the big twist at the end. I will admit I almost cried and any book that brings out such emotion in someone deserves 5 stars.

I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Continuation of "Beyond Reach" - definitely read that one FIRST if you can. This story combines two of Karin Slaughter's series - Grant County and Will Trent. I wished there was more Sara (Grant County) in this one, but it was very good and kept my interest throughout.

Dr. Sara Linton has left Grant County behind. She is working at an Atlanta Hospital's trauma center when a woman is brought in. She was hit by a car, but it is apparent she has also been tortured and starved. Special Agents Will Trent and Faith Mitchell start an investigation. Will soon finds an underground torture chamber and another victim. When another woman is kidnapped in broad daylight, Will and Faith race against time to find a vicious killer.

In this book, Karin Slaughter has merged her Grant County and Atlanta series together. Since I wasn't happy with the ending of the Grant County series, I was happy to see the continuation of Sara Linton's character. Slaughter specialty is drawing complex characters with multiple layers which makes them believable. Even the victims in this book are well drawn but not particularly likeable. The mystery and suspense in the story are good, but I thought the middle of the book dragged a bit. My rating: 4 Stars.

I read this book in 2 days. I could not put it down. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Parts of it were graphic and not for the weak stomach. Excellent writing and great characters. Lots of twists and turns. I recommend this book to anyone that likes thrillers.

Gripping and exciting. A real page turner. I liked it the best of the 3 Slaughter novels I've read so far. She's a great crime novelist.

Another great Slaughter! I liked the way the characters from the two previous series were brought together. I didn't think this book moved very quickly, but the end was incredibly suspenseful & redeemed any lags. I'm off to read the next in the Georgia series!

Karin Slaughter is one of my favorite authors so I like all of her books. You can never go wrong with anything she has written. Always grabs you from jump and doesnt let go 'til you are done with the whole book and then you want more! You will want to stay up all night just to finish reading it.

Undone is a mixture of the Triptych and Fractured characters meets the Grant county series. I think it is very important to read all the books in order to fully appreciate and understand all the storylines.Karin Slaughter is by far one of my favorite authors. Again I was not disappointed with this book. It amazes me how well written each storyline is. Each book makes references to another book and I know exactly what is being referred to. I feel like I know each character personally and that this story is based on real people that is how well written each book is. I run out and buy her next book everytime she release one because I want to know what is going on in each character's life in the next book. I highly recommend this author and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.BEST ONE YET!!!!

Undone begins a few years after the events described in Beyond Reach. Sarah Linton has moved to Atlanta, lives in a loft with two greyhounds, and is working as an ER physician. She crosses paths with Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent Will Trent when she attends to a female patient who has been severely injured and tortured. As Will and his partner Faith track the killer, Sarah slowly begins to come back to life.

It is hard to review Undone objectively, because like many of her readers I was very angry with Karin Slaughter at the conclusion of Beyond Reach. Although Undone is marketed as a Grant County novel, the only connection to the series is Sarah - Undone feels more like the start of a completely new series. As a standalone novel Undone is Slaughter's best work in years. The atrocities inflicted by the bad guy are truly horrific, and the book is painfully suspenseful throughout its 400+ pages. As with her portrayal of Lena, Slaughter proves herself masterful at creating complex characters who are deeply wounded and personally flawed, but able to exorcise some of their demons through their work.

The only thing that bothered me about this book was the ending. There was a Batman-style cliff hanger at the end that left me feeling that I was being manipulated into buying the next book. After sticking with Slaughter following Beyond Reach I thought as a reader I deserved better. However, if I put myself in the shoes of a new reader who had not read any of the previous Grant County novels I imagine that I would not be so bothered..... like I said, it is hard to be objective.

It was great to see Grant County return. I was not expecting the characters from the Will Trent books to pop up; that was an interesting turn of events. Overall I was happy to see Sara's return but I wish she would have been a little more prominent in the book at times.

I enjoyed this book very much. Others said it was slow moving, but I didn't agree. If you've been following Slaughter's series' you will see the two sets of characters collide in this book. Faith Mitchell/Will Trent along with Dr. Sara Linton. Dangles just enough in front of you to want to move onto the next......
Suggest this for all of you who enjoy these series'.

Just okay for me--has too much description, too much referring back to other issues, and the story moves very slow.

The story was good, was a fast read. However, it seemed to end abruptly and was disappointed in the ending. Also, I did not like all the expletives. I wish books could be rated like movies.
OH, and this is my first book by Karen Slaughter. I do thing I will go back. And begin at the beginning!
